Summary: Laptop review – A great running machine while it lasted. Received as a Christmas gift 2014, the hard drive went out April (understandable as these things happen). Returned for repair and replacement hard drive went out two months later with very little use. I went through the painful RMA process again with ASUS. When received the laptop back, I noticed there was no sound and videos would not play!
Summary: Gray/Touch Screen/15.6" HD (1366*768), glare/Intel Core i7-3537U (3.1GHz)/6 GB (two slots, one slot filled with a 4 GB stick, one slot filled with a 2 GB stick) /Intel GMA HD/500GB 5400RPM/DL DVD+/-RW/CD-RW/Windows 8 (64bit)/802.11BGN/HD Camera/Bluetooth 4.0/44WHrs, 4000mAh,3S1P, 3-cell Li-ion Battery pack with up to 5 hours life/Numeric Keypad, Chiclet Style this is the description on the web site. FALSE! not a touchscreen. waste of time. look elsewhere.
Summary: First it came with a European plug so I couldn't plug it in anywhere in the United States! If I'm buying from Michigan USA why would u sell me the wrong one??!! Also when I turned it on finally after getting a differnt ac adapter it had 122 updates!! Really 122 updates on a brand new computer??! And it's the slowest pile of crap ever, I've never seen a computer not run Facebook games well....
Summary: just rec'd this item. Already not happy with it after just 2 hours. It's clumsy to use, comes with a European ac cord. :>( It still has windows 8, :>( but can't do much about that anymore. it's not easy to use. I wish i had not bought it!! Maybe next time I'll just got to a store and try one for an hour or so till I am satisfied.
Summary: The laptop listed skips.. so when you start typing the next letter you typed would be an I but a u or o or some other letter would show up.. also they sent me the battery plug for Europe I am in Seattle.. Standard plug.. I had to buy one and this it skips and the screen is so small.. it would not support any other application to essentially it is only good to play some games with.. buy an abacus,, you would get more use out it.. what a waste of money..
Summary: Was not touch screen, different processor in it then stated. Very disappointed. Would not purchase ever again. Company did give us $65 credit back but shouldn't have taken it and just returned the whole thing!
Don't buy this junk. Save a little more for something that works.

Summary: This was the worst purchase I have ever made. My siblings and I purchased this for my mom last year for Christmas. It has yet to be functional. Main problem was Windows 8, which is NOT user friendly when converting from Windows 7. This along with some Automatic BS that always tends to show up when you don't want it--makes this incredibly frustrating for day-to-day tasks.
Summary: I have used few laptops so far.My first one was compaq, which lasted 5 years and i decided to give it to charity and purchase a new one. The second was one HP which lasted for 6-7 years and it was in perfect condition. Then I decided to say good bye to my HP and buy this (JUNK) laptop from ASUS. It was working fine for the first couple of months, then it started showing problems. It constantly froze, and i thought this is normal as because laptop does freezes at time.
Summary: This computer is unusable with Windows 8. It is always updating and never can connect to the internet. When it does work, it keeps jumping to its "Start" window with all its irrelevant functions. Maybe I'll try to install Linux. BUYER BEWARE! UPDATE 9-11-13 I finally installed Linux (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS) on the X55C. I am very satisfied with the laptops usability now. It goes out of hibernation relatively quickly and it connects to the internet with no issues.
