Review Asus X55U-SX052H Notebook

Notebookcheck
15 May 2013
  • Summary: Business bargain. Asus releases a simple and inexpensive business notebook based on AMD's E2-1800 APU for a low 350 Euros (~$450). The power-efficient APU promises a long battery life and low noise levels. Can the system deliver on these promises and is its performance up to par?
  • Pros: Display with good contrast ratio, Reasonably quiet, Chassis stays cool, USB 3.0, The contrast ratio of the display and the low system noise.
  • Cons: Keyboard clatters, Overall performance is low, Better battery life. We would also appreciate a brighter display.

Good value, all-purpose laptop

  • Summary: The ASUS X55SV-AS081C has an excellent range of ports and networking connections and doesn't cost the world. If you can stand the drab design and can't spend more than $1800, this notebook should be seriously considered.
  • Pros: Graphics card is good for price, e-SATA port, HDMI output
  • Cons: Unattractive design, keyboard layout will require getting used to, low battery life
