Summary: This is a lightning fast computer that you can not go wrong with. I have not experienced the same problem as the other reviewer with the space bar issue and I have to say I could not be happier with this product.
Summary: ASUS like many other PC makers ships their machines with a bunch of bloatware. The people responsible for this are out of touch. Windows 8 is actually good. I did not notice a significant change in 8.1. Restoring the Windows Start button is almost a joke. I miss hitting the Windows Logo button, seeing the start menu, few movements of the arrow keys and I am at the Documents folder, Control Panel or My Computer. Other than this Windows 8 in general is really decent.
Good laptop for $500. Better available for a bit more now that the price is hiked. Windows 8 though...

Summary: I've been using this machine for 3 months now. It's fast, relatively light and can handle the heavy multitasking I need (a VM, Netbeans, Eclipse for Android et al all open at the same time, while browsing several tabs). Windows 8 was horrible. It still is quite bad despite the 8.1 upgrade. I'd suggest getting the next gen edition of this laptop now though.
Summary: This computer runs so much more smoothly than my Acer EVER did! My only complaint is that it has Windows 8 which I HATE! I will likely be putting 7 on soon. The sound is decent and and videos have not been choppy at all.
Summary: Overall I like the computer but the track pad is so sensitive that by merely resting my left wrist on the computer - it swishes the window that I am working on away and I have to search for it. Windows 8 is probably the biggest issue as it is a totally unintuitive operating system and requires extra steps for simple functions. You have to completely exit a document just to save it.
Summary: This laptop seem to work fine I just wish it came with something other than windows 8. The update to windows 8 in October is worthless! So for now I will just keep using my XP laptop until I find a use for some or all the garbage windows 8 has in it. The computer it's self runs fast. Has every out io needed except a card reader.
Summary: So far this computer works great and I haven't had any problems. I was not familiar with windows 8 so it took me a while to some technical stuff out, like how to turn it off or find the document folder. All the apps have been great to play with when I'm bored. I play some computer games and the resolution on them are excellent.
