Summary: Great for on-the-go b/c of weight. Good enough for someone getting first laptop, buying for kids or someone who doesn't need much from their computer. Wouldn't buy if you need to surf with blazing fast speed. Like I said, it's not terrible, but you'll notice a little lag loading pages with lots of images or text.
Pros: Price. Wouldn't pay $350, I'd wait for $249-279.
Cons: I wouldn't say it's slow, but it's not fast. Like I said, decent for the price. It is a celeron after all. Also had 8GB memory on previous, notice a little difference back to 4.
Summary: Low resolution screen compared to todays ultra high res laptops, but in reality when I give someone an ultra high res screen, the first thing they usually do is turn down the resolution so things aren't so 'small'.
Pros: Lightweight, ultrabook CPU, long battery life, inexpensive. Perfect for web browsing and watching Netflix. You would never know it's refurbished except for the label on the box.
Cons: Came with Windows 8, blew that away and put on windows 7. Driver support sucks for Windows 7 (I've been a Sys Admin for over 10 years). The audio driver and touchpad, sometimes stops working after resuming from standby, I would use the built in windows audio driver (which is rock solid) but then you can't use the headphone jack.
Summary: ASUS provides horrible support/customer service - our notebook has been under warranty repair for over a month - they are "waiting for parts," keep recycling the same answers: "sorry for the inconvenience"
Summary: I'm upset that after a month of use the machine just crapped out. We purchased this as a gift for a friend going back to college for nursing, now she's out of luck. Her ebooks and homework are on the machine and summer classes don't leave much for error. The battery can't be replaced and doesn't seem to be charging. Tried with multiple chargers, all of which were confirmed to work with this laptop before (roommates). Laptop won't even turn on when plugged in.
Pros: Great value laptop, the purple color was pretty fun, not bad specs for the price
Cons: stopped working after less than 3 weeks of use.
Summary: Before I installed LinuxMint, I first tried to swap the drive for one with Linux already installed but all my other 320GB drives are about 1mm thicker. That extra 1mm prevented the case from properly snapping back together.
Pros: I installed LinuxMint 16 Mate edition over Windows using a thumb drive. Had to first turn off a bios setting to disable secure boot mode.
Cons: Track pad buttons are not real buttons and are very hit & miss so I use a wireless mouse.
