Put your $ elsewhere

amber, Amazon

  • Summary: Purchased back in 01.22.14. I have held on to it since hoping I could find a least one practical use for it. The AMD Processor is extremely slow. I was fumbling through other reviews and saw a few where people mentioned "lightening fast" or "fast processing" and I have to admit my complete and total confusion. Perhaps I am missing a key point to operating this computer optimally.

It was hacked to pieces and looked like crap when I bought the computer

Aaron Prebenda, Amazon
24 July 2014
  • Summary: This is to criticize multiple parties here. (1) The sellers were either drunk or they bought this computer from a drunk person. There was a large sticker in the center of the top edifice when the computer is closed. It was hacked to pieces and looked like crap when I bought the computer. Fortunately, I have a little aesthetic sense enough to use some nail-polish remover to get rid of the sticker and residue.

I received the unit in good condition. However

George Coslin, Amazon
22 July 2014
  • Summary: I received the unit in good condition. However, I am disappointed with some of the short comings of the unit. The website description did not mention if it had a CD/DVD drive, and I mistakently assumed it did. After the unit was received, I was disappointed by the lack of this feature. The unit is constructed out of cheap plastic, and did not meet the standards I expected since I had previously purchased an ASUS unit about 18 mos ago.

Sudden shut downs

ByungKwon Yun, Amazon
18 June 2014
  • Summary: For about a usage of a week, this laptop started to show defectives. I knew this is cheap laptop, however, it started to be not fully charged, from 98% and kept get lower. On top of that, for no reason, it started to automatic shut-down without any notice or warning or blue-screen. I thought it would be 'heat' problem at the first time, but none of my cooler worked and it kept auto-shut down without device get hot.

Bruce, Amazon
29 May 2014
  • Summary: it's ok ... people should look carefully cause it's a Celeron. i wish it was faster and better. when watching you tube it only load 720. so forget about 1080 it would lagg like crazy ... so read everything before buying ... there's alot of these asus out there and it's under 300 dollars ... wish it was a Intel Pentium 1.8 GHz cause i hate Celeron. It's not that fast.

I'd look elsewhere.

Randy StClair, Amazon
31 March 2014
  • Summary: I do not like this computer. It feels very slow. My recently crashed 8-9 year old HP ran WAAAAY faster. Even to keyboard lags frequently. I have broadband internet and it takes MINUTES to load simple textual web pages like recipes. You have to pound the space bar to get it to work. Windows 8 is the most idiotic system I've ever used. If you are looking for a budget laptop, then you've found it.

Very poor keyboard

R. Grace, Amazon
6 June 2013
  • Summary: Great battery life, good screen but the keyboard is dreadful. The space bar is very prone to missing keystrokes. I would say that 25% of presses on the space bar fail to register so you have to constantly backspace to correct typing mistakes. I'll stick with buying Lenovo machines in future.
