Summary: So this thing might not be perfect for if you like to play a lot of video games, but for me, who just does a lot of writing and reading, it is perfect. I got it with Linux so obviously it runs without a hitch 24/7 and, being a broke writer, $324 was precisely what I could spare when my old laptop...
Summary: I started shopping for a laptop, mostly for use as a college student for notes, looking stuff up, etc. I was looking for something cheap, small and lightweight, with hardware that would run Linux. This little unit fit the bill perfectly.
Summary: I had an opportunity to get a used version of this laptop for my son's 21st birthday, but splurged, got the new one. We opened it together -- very excited -- turned it on . . . and discovered that not only was it USED, they had neglected to wipe the drive: we had to know "Jennifer's" password to get...
Summary: I usually don't pay much attention to the speed of my computer but this one is the slowest computer I have ever used. Even to just shut it down, after the screen goes black it still takes at least another minute to finish shutting down. I would not recommend this Asus at all.
Summary: This laptop with Ubuntu 12.04 is great. There's a learning curve but nothing too extensive. There are tons of info including videos on how to use the Linux software on the net. I had a problem with my wifi dropping so upgraded to 12.10, and that seems to be working better.
Summary: I love this PC. The spec's aren't good, but after installing Windows 8 on it, I got what I wanted, a quick, cheap, lightweight and super portable PC to get me out of any hurry. Of course it won't run a lot of really demanding software, but it get's the job done.
Summary: I had heard that changing from a windows xp os to a windows 8 would be very difficult but I have found that it was quite easy. I needed to replace my ASUS net book that I had used for 4 years as my traveling computer.

Summary: I bought a brand new laptop. I need my computer for work. The charger broke almost immediately. No one at the company can tell me where I can buy a replacement in the country. I was told it would take a month to order a new charger. So now I'm left without a computer for upwards of a month.
Summary: I was happy with the computer until one day it just didn't want to turn on any more and it happened only 5 days after the 30day return policy, now i have to deal with asus which they probably want me to send it for repair and i wil be without a computer for a week or two...
