Summary: I purchased the netbook in November. The charger connection has already failed and I will have to ship it back for repair, so I will be without a netbook for about 2 weeks. Also sometimes it just goes to black for no reason and has to be rebooted. This is the 2nd Asus that I've had with charger issues. It is not as solidly made as the Samsung I had previously. I don't really like the new windows 8.1 layout.
Summary: I have had this laptop for 3 months now. Works fine and is what I expect from a 2 GB, netbook like laptop. I use ONLY for school and work purposes so that I do not attract any viruses. But, the laptop started shutting off on its own and won't reboot until I lift the whole laptop off of whatever surface I have it on. I called ASUS they gave me the run around and forced me to restore my laptop.
so it will do just fine. I found it to be too slow for ...

Summary: I purchased this laptop to operate one application, so it will do just fine. I found it to be too slow for daily use. The biggest bottleneck is probably the hard drive. Performing Windows updates took a very long time. Boot time isn't fast either. Also, the horizontal and vertical viewing angles are poor and I wish all laptop manufacturer's will use at least use 1080P if not UHD panels.
Summary: There are several things I hate about this laptop. 1. the keys...I'll be typing and for whatever reason, half of the letters I typed aren't there and I have to go back and add them. It's a pain in the ass. 2. For some reason, the cursor gets stuck a lot. 3. When I try to scroll down in an email, it doesn't scroll down gradually. I get the top or the bottom and no in between. 4. There's no disc drive. This was a gift.
Good for windows 8.1 but I wont recommend even to an enemy for installation on linux.

Summary: It is okay, if you intend to boot windows. But I intended to boot linux on it. Linux boots without an issue but the wifi adapter is hard blocked. I searched the net and found its a common issue with asus laptops and the bug has been reported since months, infact years. Still asus hasn't patched it yet. Asus sucks on that front. Meanwhile I am dumping it to a friend as I cant always use wired internet on my linux install. PS: The touchpad buttons are little cranky.
Summary: The configuration is truly awesome. It runs on a i3 4th generation cpu along with 4GB ram so you can expect good performance from this laptop at such a price. But the problem lies in the display, wifi & faulty usb 2.0 ports. The display is not so good...pixels are visible......wifi indicator light doesn't glow and its signal get lost every now & then and only 1 usb 3.0 usb port was functionable while other 2 usb ports were not.Its not with my laptop only, many customers are...
