Summary: Bought this to replace a dying 10.1" Acer used by a bedridden relative, because it has a bigger screen but supposedly weighs the same (2.6 pounds). Immediately felt heavier upon arrival. Put it on the scale and found it's actually 2 pounds 15 ounces (2.9375 pounds)! Weighed the Acer and found it's actually 2 pounds 3 ounces, 3 ounces less than advertised. The 12 ounce difference doesn't sound like much, but it makes a big difference to someone using it in bed. Bummer.
Summary: I charged this out of the box and it would not go past 75%. I talked with the tech services department (very friendly/helpful), but we were only able to bump the overall charge up to 85%. They recommended sending it back and getting another. The second one I received ended up having hard drive issues (clicking of death) within the week. This wasn't dropped, kicked, bumped or anything. I was shocked by how bad these two were after all of the good reviews it had online.
Summary: This laptop is terrible. I mainly bought this laptop for school work, listening to music, and saving some pictures. I've only had the laptop for 7 months and it is already incredibly slow, It freezes all the time, after a certain the mouse stops working so you are forced to use the touch screen which can be annoying because the laptop is so slow and has a tendency to freeze. The sound on the laptop also stops working after a certain amount of time.
Summary: This thing has too many problems to actually list, but in a summary: it's slow. As in 20 mins for a cold boot, or 60mins for a reboot type slow. Once it's running any little action is also a slow ordeal, i.e. opening a folder will take 2-3 mins. I've ran the initial batch of system and driver updates, but now I any attempt at further updates or changes results in it hanging, or maybe an error message if I let it run for 12-24 hours.
I like my old XP can not get the new 8.0 to work simply.

Summary: I have an XP and use it daily. I can not get the 8.0 to work for me . I am an 84 year old electrical professional engineer.The directions are not at all clear and I think you assume that I have had all the previous computers to learn on. I guess I would like to return this compuer and remain using my old XP because it still does the job that I am unable to do on the new one.
Summary: Product was delivered 01/06/2014 and 05/20/2015 it is dead and would not boot. it was used just a few times a week. Tried to go to Setup (F2 on power on) nothing. Attempted F9 for restore, nothing. I would not buy any ASUS products in the future. Can't return it for replacement or refund. Although I bought prime, I can't do a A-Z guarantee claim.. Waist of money. would not recommend.
Summary: Had to return because battery was not working. The computer while it was plugged in was a nice machine. wasted 3-4 hours setting it up then the support things to try then clearing all and shipping it back After a smooth return bought a new one and like it.
Summary: To slow in simple operations and web browsing wouldn't recommend it for any copious amount of online work. The touch screen worked well and it's a practical size for taking it along during the day.
