a bit slow, but excellent little office

Nicola, Argos
  • Summary: with its portability, connection ports and Office included this little pc is really a precious little office when on a budget. Unfortunately (event after 1 day of windows updates, incuding updgrade to win 8.1) the system is still quite slow and needs some hackering to improve a bit (just a bit) the performance. Using Chrome with 2-3 tabs open and Skype in multitasking is already enough to push the system to its limits.

Good Value product

  • Summary: A good mini laptop for the price. Surprisingly impressed with the touch screen response. Windows 8 will take getting used to if you have not used it before. Excellent value if you include MS Office package included as well.

Asus X102BA

Philip White, FutureShop
27 September 2014
  • Summary: Here I am with my second shot at trying a refurbished ASUS, I took the last one back because it wouldn't operate without being plugged in, the second one is doing the same thing. There are no instructions on how to charge this thing so I know if it is working or not. I will post in a little bit whether I could get the second one to accept a charge or not.

absolute disaster

sunshine state, Argos
31 July 2014
  • Summary: Had this thing a week, nothing works on Windows 8...system has crashed after every update, or when a download occurs....constantly having to restart it....should have followed my gut instinct....the touch pad is far too sensitive, constantly changing between desktop and Windows just by breathing on it... .going back to store for a refund....

Good for the price

Mark, Argos
29 July 2014
  • Summary: As others have mentioned, you need to update to Windows 8.1 to get the best out of this and be prepared to wait, takes a long time... First you have to run windows update for 8, do this in batches, I did uit all at once and 5 hours later it all failed... But not a bad little laptop, touch screen works better than expected.

Ideal notebook

  • Summary: Bought this for my granddaughter. It's perfect for what she wanted, with Office 2013 included in the bundle. I cannot comment on the battery life as she uses it mainly plugged into the mains.

Nice netbook

RobS, Argos
22 July 2014
  • Summary: This is a nice compact netbook if you want a usable keyboard and readable screen, with the bonus of MS Office installed. Good for packing for trips away and staying in touch or watching videos - a bit like a slightly larger PDA. Don't try to use for long sessions typing unless you want sore eyes and hands. Leave for a couple of days connected to internet for Windows 8 to update itself after purchase.
