Summary: Here I am with my second shot at trying a refurbished ASUS, I took the last one back because it wouldn't operate without being plugged in, the second one is doing the same thing. There are no instructions on how to charge this thing so I know if it is working or not. I will post in a little bit whether I could get the second one to accept a charge or not.
Excerpt: I mostly use a iPad for general internet browsing etc but wanted something to replace my ageing, arthritic tower pc which had many years worth of photos and music stored on it. This little Asus laptop fitted the bill really well with a suitably sized hard drive and 4gb of RAM is pretty powerful as well. Would definitely recommend this for anyone needing a general pc/laptop. The offer I found came with a licence of office as well so great for on the go document editing.
Excerpt: Easy to use, came with Windows 8, easily updated to 8.1, Also came with Office among many other things, had more included from Argos than leading outlets and was cheaper there too. Battery life could be longer, but is adequate.
Excerpt: A good mini laptop for the price. Surprisingly impressed with the touch screen response. Windows 8 will take getting used to if you have not used it before. Excellent value if you include MS Office package included as well.
Excerpt: As others have mentioned, you need to update to Windows 8.1 to get the best out of this and be prepared to wait, takes a long time... First you have to run windows update for 8, do this in batches, I did uit all at once and 5 hours later it all failed... But not a bad little laptop, touch screen works better than expected.
