Summary: What started as a sleek and fast laptop, has quickly degraded to an aluminum and plastic hunk of S... recyclables.. the motherboard failed after roughly 18 months of 2-3 days a week usage. That's inconvenient, but the issue starts as i took it to an ASUS authorized service center.
Summary: I've decided to use this for a while before making a review. When I first received the computer it was already malfunctioning. I could literally be 10ft from the modem and could not detect wifi whether at home, campus or anywhere. The screen was also popping out of the case.
Pros: You can use it what its meant for (portable, do simple things like surf the web) but other than that there are no pros.
Bought this in Oct 2013. It seemed glitchy right ...

Summary: Bought this in Oct 2013. It seemed glitchy right of the bat. Upgraded to 8.1 and struggled that leaning curve. I had the wi-fi problems, but a new router from my isp did the trick. No battery issues and it has no hardware problems to date.
Summary: I'm a computer technician at an elementary school in Maine. I bought this as a replacement for my ex's old clunky toshiba satellite (the first ones to ship with windows 8 on them, at $425 a pop) which I accidentally broke during the break up.
Pros: Brilliant gloss display, chiclet keyboard, instant boot, and cool, brushed aluminum looks. Smallest battery pack I've ever seen in my LIFE.
Cons: I don't get to keep it. I have an inkling that battery life will be pretty short if you do anything other than leave it in standby.
Summary: Purchased this ASUS notebook on 9/5/13. It shipped on 9/6/13. Received quickly from the Vendor (J-Tech). I've had this notebook back to the factory 2x (twice). Not a happy camper!! May have the same problem (intermediate) again.
Summary: I absolutely hate this laptop and Asus is the worst! Besides not liking Windows 8, this notebook randomly shuts down without warning a few times per week. I have sent this unit back for repair to Asus twice and the problem persists. I have done system resets as well. The issue persists.
Nice computer but not good for work - Random Shutdowns
Phillip Bruce Rittgers, Amazon
13 March 2014
Summary: About once a week, out of the Blue it shuts down. You can be typing away on your letter and loose about a half hour of work, this just happened to me. If you can live with this its not that bad of a computer.
Summary: Exactly as described and just what expected. Ran great right out of the box, touch screen is very responsive. Limited installed software, but that was clear upfront and I already had a MS 2013 office licence. Doesn't feel heavy or bulky despite its larger size.
