The SC was very nice, and they ran the diagnostic

jmorrisjr, Amazon
29 April 2015
  • Summary: What started as a sleek and fast laptop, has quickly degraded to an aluminum and plastic hunk of S... recyclables.. the motherboard failed after roughly 18 months of 2-3 days a week usage. That's inconvenient, but the issue starts as i took it to an ASUS authorized service center.

User Review

Shawn M., Newegg
9 January 2015
  • Summary: I've decided to use this for a while before making a review. When I first received the computer it was already malfunctioning. I could literally be 10ft from the modem and could not detect wifi whether at home, campus or anywhere. The screen was also popping out of the case.
  • Pros: You can use it what its meant for (portable, do simple things like surf the web) but other than that there are no pros.
  • Cons: Everything

Bought this in Oct 2013. It seemed glitchy right ...

George Shea, Amazon
2 November 2014
  • Summary: Bought this in Oct 2013. It seemed glitchy right of the bat. Upgraded to 8.1 and struggled that leaning curve. I had the wi-fi problems, but a new router from my isp did the trick. No battery issues and it has no hardware problems to date.

Bought this for my ex

Aidan K., Newegg
28 October 2014
  • Summary: I'm a computer technician at an elementary school in Maine. I bought this as a replacement for my ex's old clunky toshiba satellite (the first ones to ship with windows 8 on them, at $425 a pop) which I accidentally broke during the break up.
  • Pros: Brilliant gloss display, chiclet keyboard, instant boot, and cool, brushed aluminum looks. Smallest battery pack I've ever seen in my LIFE.
  • Cons: I don't get to keep it. I have an inkling that battery life will be pretty short if you do anything other than leave it in standby.

ASUS ???

Martin T Condon, Amazon
3 October 2014
  • Summary: Purchased this ASUS notebook on 9/5/13. It shipped on 9/6/13. Received quickly from the Vendor (J-Tech). I've had this notebook back to the factory 2x (twice). Not a happy camper!! May have the same problem (intermediate) again.

Asus is the worst!

Suzanne Golub Lefkowitz, Amazon
1 October 2014
  • Summary: I absolutely hate this laptop and Asus is the worst! Besides not liking Windows 8, this notebook randomly shuts down without warning a few times per week. I have sent this unit back for repair to Asus twice and the problem persists. I have done system resets as well. The issue persists.

Very Happy

Anthony S., Newegg
21 August 2014
  • Summary: Good buy, I see no reason to buy the product new for more money.
  • Pros: I am very happy with this refurbished product. I see no difference from a brand new one other than I don't have the original box. Looked brand new out of the box and works absolutely perfect.
  • Cons: I have nothing bad to say

Nice computer but not good for work - Random Shutdowns

Phillip Bruce Rittgers, Amazon
13 March 2014
  • Summary: About once a week, out of the Blue it shuts down. You can be typing away on your letter and loose about a half hour of work, this just happened to me. If you can live with this its not that bad of a computer.

Excellent laptop - good value

Anthony P, Amazon
23 January 2014
  • Summary: Exactly as described and just what expected. Ran great right out of the box, touch screen is very responsive. Limited installed software, but that was clear upfront and I already had a MS 2013 office licence. Doesn't feel heavy or bulky despite its larger size.
