Summary: This is my 3rd attempt at writing this review, and a good reason why I dislike this machine. Hitting the spacebar will result in any number of possible actions. It may take me back one page or forward one page. It may take me to the desktop. Or to a previous app.
Summary: This Vivobook S500CA is the second Asus which I have owned. I purchased my other in 2010 and paid about the same amount of money for it. As with most things, the quality seems to be diminishing, specifically, the keyboard.
Summary: Lets just say this thing is coming apart. All was well when i first purchased this ultra book but through normal use the screws that hold the bottom on are breaking loose from the plastic due to opening and closing the lid.
Summary: The touch pad would get stuck in down position when clicked. This was an out of box defect. I sent the unit off to the asus repair center and they fixed it. It took about a week for the repair. Asus covered all costs as the unit was under warranty. Unit is currently working fine.
Summary: I'll type the rest of this without pressing any of keys 2 and 3 times like i typically have to do. "Anything on the botto 2 rows inluding the shift button the spae bar oa, period zxcvbnm need to be pressed hard in orderto get them to work This issue isprogressily getting worse" As you can see you...
Touchscreen glitching - exchanging for replacement.
David H., Amazon
5 December 2013
Summary: I only used it for 2 hours before touchscreen started glitching and registering touches both while the computer was being touched and when not touched at all - even several minutes after not being touched.
Summary: The specifications for the ASUS Ultrabook S500CA-DS51 are good. The problem I encountered was poor construction. The keyboard is warped and as a result the keys are displaced rendering the keyboard impossible to touch-type upon.
