Summary: The touch pad would get stuck in down position when clicked. This was an out of box defect. I sent the unit off to the asus repair center and they fixed it. It took about a week for the repair. Asus covered all costs as the unit was under warranty. Unit is currently working fine.
Touchscreen glitching - exchanging for replacement.

Summary: I only used it for 2 hours before touchscreen started glitching and registering touches both while the computer was being touched and when not touched at all - even several minutes after not being touched. I am returning it - super easy with Amazon- and am going to get a replacement and give it one more try.
Summary: The specifications for the ASUS Ultrabook S500CA-DS51 are good. The problem I encountered was poor construction. The keyboard is warped and as a result the keys are displaced rendering the keyboard impossible to touch-type upon.
Summary: The laptop looks good and works fine with a few quirks, such as the lid being somewhat difficult to grab to open and since it's a touchscreen you'd expect it to be more solid, however when you touch the screen it it wobbles... ha! that is weird. I just spent a couple of hours trying to pair my Jawbone Jambox bluetooth speaker and I tried everything unsuccessfully.
Summary: Got this laptop from Next Generation Systems here on Amazon for $547 + $8 shipping with no tax shipped to California on 10/14/13. Pretty good deal at time of purchase. So this laptop does not have the 24gb ssd hard drive as in the description. I only see the 500gb hd where Windows was installed. The screen is not vibrant and hard to see in a sun lit room. I can't imagine using it outside during the day as it will be impossible to see.
Summary: The spacebar barely works properly. You can't realistically write a paper with this laptop. It is basically a toy. Also, with Win8, the wireless card has extremely slow connection. Even with the new driver, it is very slow.
