Summary: This computer is, as my tech guy says, "Smokin.". Fast as lightning, light, the touch screen is great, keyboard is easy to adapt to. Everything I expected and needed at a great price. Don't know how Asus does it, but they really created a great computer for a great deal less than their competitors' equivalent machines.
Summary: I was apprehensive about the smaller size and the Windows 8, but both are great after a little "getting used to" period. I like the light weight and the quick responsiveness. So far, it's just what I wanted.
Summary: Windows 8 touch screen, 4gb RAM, 500 gb hard drive, i5 processor, and a beautiful sleek aluminum case give this machine an expensive mac look and feel. I bought it for one of my kids in college. She hauls it around campus from class to class so weight and physical size of the laptop are an issue. We looked at tablets such as the iPad and the Surface but by the time you add accessories like keyboard, covers, extra storage you're up to 7 or 8 hundred dollars anyway.
Summary: Upgrade to Win 8 pro went smoothly. Didn't have too much garbage to uninstall prior to using (although, there is always some). Windows 8 is performing fine in an enterprise environment (70-person domain). This comp, in conjunction with Win 8, found all printers without downloading drivers, which was nice. Laptop boots fast and the touchscreen works well. Two negatives: the touchscreen adds a little weight and thickness; the battery appears to be built in (non-removable).
