Summary: It's a good value because of the price, but in the end it's a relatively cheap laptop. You kind of get what you pay for, so I am rating the product itself rather than the value. There are little annoying things, like the video quality isn't close to HD (my phone displays a much cleaner picture) and the keys a just a smidge too far apart for someone who is used to more a conventional keyboard. It is also kind of heavy.
Summary: My real only gripe with the computer is that sometimes the keys wont register the key press unless you press with an almost unnecessary amount of force. And then the numlock key is replaced with the Vivobook computer manager button which i find myself accidentally pressing often when reaching for the backspace. This will interrupt my work by bringing up another screen. Otherwise it is a very good laptop and I feel will last for a long time to come.
Summary: CONS: The charger is bulky and mine already has a crack in it. It is difficult to find a replacement for. But it is light weight, fast, and has only crashed once on me. When I first got it, it updated itself about 2-3 times a week, but now (a few months later) it is running fine. The CD/DVD port takes a while to read your disks, and sometimes it doesn't read them at all, but that is no big deal for me since I rarely uses disks..
Horrible Customer Service. Pray you don't have problems.

Summary: ASUS has the single worst customer service and warranty program I have ever had to deal with. If you do buy their product, you'd better pray that you don't have any problems with it, because you won't get any help from ASUS. In the year that I had one of their laptops, mine broke down 5 times. Every time I sent it into their 'service' center, the part they replaced failed again within months, or even weeks.
Summary: this computer is a piece of crap - wifi doesn't work, keyboard doesn't work - space bar doesn't work, touch key pad doesn't work. no change after spending time with tech. This is the 4th piece of crap I've gotten from Amazon - NEVER AGAIN!@@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Give me my 9 year old Dell from Dell- it works far better than this Asus crap. It's prettiness still doesn't earn it one star but I can't submit.
Excerpt: The VivoBooks are poorly built. Very fragile. My hard-drive crashed after falling 6 inches. It was leaning against the leg of a chair, slid down the leg to a flat position. That wiped the hard-drive. ASUS customer service repaired it and put a new screen on it. Then, I dropped it from about 3 feet and it is done. It was in a protected, padded case when the strap broke. It fell about 3 feet. The screen cracked in 2 places and the hard-drive is done.
