Summary: Purchased from Adorama in December 2013. Machine frequently shuts down abruptly. Wireless adapter cannot find router to which I have connected: Directv, Roku, iPhone (2), iPad, Sony Vaio, and Wii. Sent it in for service. Asus wiped the drive and reinstalled OS. I repopulated software and files. Computer (machine) frequently shuts down abruptly and can't find wireless router or stay connected when it does recognize it. Oh, and the adapter is 2.4 Ghz only; no 5 Ghz band.
Summary: I don't usually write reviews but had to bring this this to light. I bought this for my daughter who headed off to college this fall. The machine was great until the battery stopped charging about 1 month after we purchased. We forwarded everything back to ASUS Customer Service. 3 weeks later the support team finally contacted us to inform me that the screen was cracked as well. 3 weeks to notify me that you broke the screen?
Summary: I had high hopes for this computer, assuming I ever got past learning to use Windows 8. As other people have said, having a touch screen makes 8 easier to use. The catch was, mine came a few days ago with a defective touch screen that acted like someone was tickling it along the right edge as soon as I powered it up.
Summary: the wireless connection continues to disconnect even though other computers on my network still have an internet connection. The keyboard and mouse pad suck. there is something wrong with the spacebar. window 8 sucks and continues to crash.
