Summary: It's too hard to use for me. I don't like the touchscreen! I hate it! I have used it about a month. I am using my old Gateway computer as we write. I do go on Asus. I like the old one better. I'm a senior & I'm slow to change. I like my dinosaur computer better. I would not recommend it to anyone. Thank You.
Summary: My main problem with this laptop is what's installed on it. It comes with the usual culprits like Office etc. The biggest issue was with McAfee Total Security plus Anti Theft (30 day trial version). I am used to removing bloatware but this was a mess.
Pros: Decent value for the price. Good basic laptop. Looks more expensive.
Cons: Well when it comes to hardware there is not much to say. You get what you pay for. The keyboard has a cheap feel to it. Bloatware included of course.
Summary: Thekeyboard does not workproperlly (specially the space bar). you can not even send an email. you will need to press many times just one key to get success. I thinkthis is a wonderful product (ifyou look its hardware component) but unfortunately thekeyboard just does not work. I payed 17USD for two business days shipment. I really hope a free 2 business days in my next purchase that it would not be a ASUS like this.
Summary: I've had to reinstall my OS several times, the touch screen randomly stops working, and the screen is so thin it sometimes gets something I can best describe as bubbles in it from deflection. They go away after a while but yeah. Not great. I would not buy it again.
Summary: I bought this to replace a Toshiba laptop that we'd been using for a few years. I heard a lot of great things about Asus so I gave it a try. The preformance of this laptop is great but it's the design that I had problems with. The keypad is terrible. The keys are recessed so it makes it very uncomfortable to type. I constantly had to press keys more than once to get a response. I ended up returning and purchasing a HP with the same specs and the keyboard is great!
Why make such a nice machine with a horrible keyboard? Spacebar barely works
1 October 2013
Summary: This is a very pretty machine. It has everything I needed for the perfect price. HOWEVER, The spacebar does not work 9 out of 10 times that you try to use it. If you are a person like me that has to type a lot, this is a MAJOR problem. The whole keyboard is kind of awkward, but at least the other keys actually worked. Sadly, I had to return it, because who wants a computer without a properly functioning spacebar. It's like a nightmare come true. WTF?!!
Summary: I was very excited to get this laptop. High expectations. then I started setting it up and fount it to be glitchy. The screen would change to another screen while typing in form fields. It seemed slower than I expected as well (its an i7). Then when I was starting to type things that were more than one word in length I found that the space bar only worked about half of the time. I don't know how anyone could work with this kind of issue.
Summary: The computer was very satisfactory, except that it wouldn't connect with my Wi-Fi. Two other people routinely make this connection at our home, but not the Asus. I established a Case No. with Asus and worked with three technicians. Their solutions seemed to be sensible but none of them worked. The last technician lost patience with me, so I'm not sure if I did what he wanted me to do or not. I have purchased a MacBook Pro now.
