Conclusion: The Asus ZenBook proves to be a great solution for users who need a high-resolution display on Microsoft's operating system, but for everyone else there are likely more affordable notebook options that will meet your needs.
Ultra performance, ultra looks, ultra price—Asus' latest does it all.
25 July 2013
Excerpt: Remember when Asus just made computer parts? The Taiwanese electronics company has come a long way, and is now known for its tablets and laptops. When we received its latest Zenbook —the 15.6-inch UX51VZ-XB71 (MSRP $2699.00) —our collective jaws dropped: This isn’t some strictly utilitarian computing device, but a thing of beauty.
Conclusion: All that helps ease the Asus' mild case of sticker shock—as does the Zenbook's strong performance and elegant design. If you want a bigger screen than you'll get in another four-pound portable and won't miss a built-in optical drive, tons of storage space, and touch screen, the Zenbook is an extremely classy choice.
Pros: Gorgeous, ultra-slim design, Excellent performance, Stellar sound system, Great screen, keyboard, and touch pad
Cons: Steep price, No touch screen to navigate Windows 8, No onboard optical drive, VGA port requires dongle
Conclusion: The Asus ZenBook UX51Vz-DH71 is a power users' ultraportable, with a quad-core CPU and high-end 3D graphics. Middling battery life and "only" a 1080p screen keep if from earning our top honors.
Pros: 1080p IPS screen. Quad-core i7 processor. Nvidia GT 650M graphics. Twin SSDs in a RAID array. Subwoofer. Good sound for a laptop. Additional damage and screen warranty protections.
Cons: Mini-VGA, not Mini-DisplayPort. No touch screen. Middling battery life.
Summary: With a quad-core Core i7 processor, blazing-fast SSDs and a powerful Nvidia GPU, the $1,949 ASUS Zenbook UX51V packs a ton of power into a slim and portable frame. While we wished the 15-inch screen supported touch, we appreciate the full HD resolution and wide viewing angles. This Ultrabook also lasts almost 6 hours on a charge and boasts excellent speakers. We just wish the UX51V ran cooler when playing games.
Pros: Attractive brushed aluminum design, Comfortable keyboard and touchpad, Excellent audio, Full HD display with wide viewing angles, Good graphics performance, Long battery life

14 September 2012
Summary: The Asus Zenbook U500 is a premium thin and light 15 inch laptop, one of the best in its class and for sure one of the most popular in the months to come. It does have some heating issues, as expected, but overall the laptop looks, feels and performs good.
Pros: sleek looks and sturdy build quality; thin and light for a 15 incher; excellent display, audio system and performances; good keyboard; plenty of ports; includes external optical unit
Cons: gets hot; trackpad is sometimes jumpy (also noticed on this sample: potential throttling problems)
