Lightweight beauty, that is tough and good on battery life
20 February 2014
Summary: I have had my Zenbook for 15 mos. When it was only a few months old, it knocked it off a high table onto a concrete patio. After a moment of terror, I found that the only damage was a scratch on the beautiful polished aluminum case and small dent at one corner.
Summary: Solid machine, at $599 (big sale) it looks and feels FAR more expensive. If I could do it again, I would get something else...too many quirks for my liking.
Pros: Build Quality and Appearance is spectacular Great performance Fits in with the Mac air crowd Price from newegg was unbeatable Decent, not great battery
Cons: The keyboard is TERRIBLE I miss every other key. Not enough travel The trackpad is twitchy and you will find yourself scrolling or zooming when you don't intend to WIFI card is quirky, won't connect sometimes or takes 1-2 minutes after boot to connect. I re-installed clean Win7 and updated the dr...
Summary: Great profile. Nice machine once everything was set up properly. Keyboard is not backlit I don't think. I read about problems with keyboard, but our employee who is using it has not mentioned any problems. So far pretty good.
Summary: i'll check into a battery replacement with either newegg or asus, which ever is appropriate.
Pros: this is a very nice ultrabook. its everything it claims (almost) and i'm very happy with it.
Cons: the only issue im having is the battery life is not as strong as i had read about or expected. i'm only getting about 3 hours @ moderate to heavy use. since this model is older than the current ones available, the battery may simply have degraded from setting idle on the shelf for a year or more.
Summary: There's a lot to like about this ultrabook. It's light, has good battery life, and the screen is bright and clear. Two minor nits: I'm not a fan of the chiclet keys but I see why they are used in this configuration, and the embedded L/R click buttons are not what I would have designed in.
