Lightweight beauty, that is tough and good on battery life
20 February 2014
Summary: I have had my Zenbook for 15 mos. When it was only a few months old, it knocked it off a high table onto a concrete patio. After a moment of terror, I found that the only damage was a scratch on the beautiful polished aluminum case and small dent at one corner.
Summary: Exactly what I needed and a lifesaver / godsend for school and travel. Thanks Newegg!!
Pros: Thin, sleek, fast, reliable, high resolution. SSD boot times are <5 seconds ASUS updates just made my internet adapter EVEN faster Chiclet style keyboard
Cons: Keyboard takes a bit of getting used to. Only 2 USB ports (one on either side) ***One of the USB ports (the right one) stopped working at about 1 year of ownership. That is the -1 egg right there. A pain having to work around only 1 USB...
Summary: Solid machine, at $599 (big sale) it looks and feels FAR more expensive. If I could do it again, I would get something else...too many quirks for my liking.
Pros: Build Quality and Appearance is spectacular Great performance Fits in with the Mac air crowd Price from newegg was unbeatable Decent, not great battery
Cons: The keyboard is TERRIBLE I miss every other key. Not enough travel The trackpad is twitchy and you will find yourself scrolling or zooming when you don't intend to WIFI card is quirky, won't connect sometimes or takes 1-2 minutes after boot to connect. I re-installed clean Win7 and updated the dr...
Summary: All in all, I think I'm satisfied with this purchase. I was going for a super light, super thin laptop I can use for school (anything but a tablet!), and this seems like it'll work out fine. ;3
Pros: Mine just arrived today, and I have to say, it certainly feels nice. Light, very thin, super quick startup... Decent specs on such a little thing!
Cons: My charger is a little... finicky. It charges well enough, but if you rotate the male part that enters the computer, it stops. I've noticed what others here are complaining about the keyboard sometimes missing keystrokes. It seems to me that this only really happens if you don't get the chicklet ...
Summary: Great profile. Nice machine once everything was set up properly. Keyboard is not backlit I don't think. I read about problems with keyboard, but our employee who is using it has not mentioned any problems. So far pretty good.
Summary: i'll check into a battery replacement with either newegg or asus, which ever is appropriate.
Pros: this is a very nice ultrabook. its everything it claims (almost) and i'm very happy with it.
Cons: the only issue im having is the battery life is not as strong as i had read about or expected. i'm only getting about 3 hours @ moderate to heavy use. since this model is older than the current ones available, the battery may simply have degraded from setting idle on the shelf for a year or more.
Summary: Overall, i love this ultra book ! I would have given it 5 stars, but the keyboard is a bit irritating at first until you get used to it. My girlfriend is jealous of my new ultra-book because she things I love it more then her. Well at least its very useful and doesn't nag me and spend all my money.
Pros: From the time i received it, i have been in awe of this beautiful work of art and technology. Just the right balance, from its precision machined look (people give me compliments), its light weight, its amazing long battery life, its gorgeous bright screen and lastly its "strength" from its all al...
Cons: Key board is a bit stagnant, and you have to hit the keys exactly right to get proper accuracy. Once you get used to it, its a no brainier, but, a little bit frustrating at first.
Pros: This laptop is beautiful. Gorgeous design to rival the Air, high-resolution screen, lightweight. The hardware is powerful, enough RAM, a sizeable (relatively), fast SSD, a wonderful i5. Windows 7! Amazing pricepoint. Only a few minor bezel scratches for the 1000 is savings, hardly noticeable with...
Cons: The keyboard is pretty poor, as is the touchpad. Not terrible, but not great either. The keys need to be hit dead on, and the touchpad is easily accidentally bumped, resulting in your text being inputted in the wrong place. This wouldn't be a problem if I could turn off tap to click, but the touc...
