Summary: I love ASUS. I have sought out their products for a long time. This machine is almost perfect, except for one huge glaring flaw. The track-pad is virtually useless. The track-pad intermittently doesn't work and requires rebooting to fix it.
Cons: Being an Asus user for many years, I didn't hesitate to order this new notebook. Everything seems fine except the wireless adapter is not working in spite different trials to solve this, wishing of being a minor issue. When I contacted the ASUS online chat service, the only advice I got is to con...
Summary: Asus tech support is useless. Wanted to buy the extended warranty early on. Could never get through to anyone at Asus that could would take my money. Won't buy Asus laptop again.
Pros: Great screen resolution and brightness, excellent hardware specs, Elegant design, fast boot but with several fatal flaws.
Cons: Biggest flaw is the power cord. It's flimsy and won't stay plugged in. It bends easily. Two power cables have been damaged almost beyond functionality from normal light weight use. Not much use if you can't keep it powered up. Keyboard action not very pleasing. Some keys sticky from day 1. Headph...
Lots of Reason to Like it, but Keyboard is Really Bad
16 December 2012
Summary: Pros: Fast Looks great Good battery life Seems well made Great sound system for such a compact computer Haven't noticed any fan noise Never gets very hot Not too much bloatware BUT... Cons: Keyboard is the worst I've ever experienced. About 5% of my keystrokes do not register.
Summary: poor design as far as the memmory and display are concerned. otherwise i would be happy to buy another one.
Pros: Light, fast, easy to use, long battery life. Best part is everything is made out of machined aluminum.
Cons: the display shorts to the lid. I have found after several returns to ASUS that they don't know how to fix this problem. I have to put my thumbs in the center of the screen and grab the top corners and gently flex the screen to make the screen go back to normal. What asus has been doing is replaci...
Summary: First of all, the laptop itself is good and pretty much what I expected, with two exceptions: 1) The trackpad gets in the way sometimes and you will hit it with your palm while typing and begin typing somewhere else on the page inadvertently. 2) The keyboard takes some getting used to.
Pros: Light weight, fast, long battery life. It would be great laptop except for its critical flaw!
Cons: The touchpad. Watch out. I've read they have two suppliers for the touch pad, a good one and the one I have. It selects (single click) stuff without doing anything. Very frustrating. You move the curser around, and bang it selects something, or better yet, you are typing and suddenely your typing...
