Summary: I love ASUS. I have sought out their products for a long time. This machine is almost perfect, except for one huge glaring flaw. The track-pad is virtually useless. The track-pad intermittently doesn't work and requires rebooting to fix it.
Summary: Overall a good product. I would recommend this to any prospective laptop buyers. Especially for someone who needs a highly portable machine that will not wither away from processing tasks. This would be perfect for a college student, as it is portable, and has adequate HD space.
Pros: The keyboard is actually really good - if you know how to type properly. A touch typist used to a lighter resistance keyboard is going to have problems on this. I have never run into any issues with mistypes on this particular setup. The processor is awesome, and it packs a good punch for everyth...
Cons: There is only really one con to speak of - the track pad. The left click functionality is difficult. I need to position my finger directly over the correct area to activate left click, which is exactly 3/4 of the way to the left, right in the middle of the marked area. Literally anywhere else you...
Summary: I bought this in 2012 and made the mistake of buying another one soon after. I have had to spend nearly USD 300 on one of them for first repairing the slot which takes in the charger and then having to replace the screen which I was advised by the ASUS service centre (in Dubai where I live) had gone...
Summary: This model has a very serious screen issue that Asus has not addressed! I bought the $1,500 model new, and the screen died when it was JUST out of warranty! Google search "ux31e screen problem" and you'll see that there are MANY people who have had the same issue.
Summary: It is very difficult to find a phone number for support. Twice, they lost my address or email. Parts replaced at random without explanation. Support group has less knowledge than I do. ASUS has an LCD problem that they will not admit to.
Pros: Looks good
Cons: After six weeks of ownership, the LCD became erratic. Sent it back for repair in October, 2013 and finally got it back on April 21, 2014. The display now not working in another mode. After three hours with the support group, got another RMA and it is back at ASUS.
Summary: I bought this in June of last year. I was pleased with it until I noticed splotches that look like coffee stains under the screen. They show up under light background and are multiplying. Additionally, I am noticing light spots on the screen as well..
Summary: I have had this computer for 7 months now. I have already sent it back to NewEgg for repair once, because Asus' bloatware cripples the computer if removed. (This is why other users wifi has gone out) Next the computer started bluescreening, and became completely unusable.
Pros: Fast machine, light, very portable
Cons: Bloatware cripples computer if removed, not durable, keyboard hard to use
Summary: I'd love this laptop if it wasn't completely broken. Someone help me PLEASE.
Pros: Beautiful laptop, great keyboard; despite other reviews I read. Well made, light, portable, sleek, perfect alternative to a mac air. But......
Cons: The laptop became a 650$ paperweight in less than a month, and it's all because of the DC adapter that is SOLDERED onto the motherboard. Obviously I am unable to fix this myself, and purchasing a fix is unacceptable for a brand new refurb. I bought a refurbished laptop. I was supposed to get a wo...
