Summary: I love this laptop. It is everything that it is advertised to be. On maximum battery saving, I average about 10 hours of battery life. On full performance, I've been getting around 4 hours of battery life. The touchpad is sensitive, and I do hit it on occasion while typing. Also, the black body attracts fingerprints and smudges. But, those are minor inconveniences. Currently, I have Windows 7 and Ubuntu Linux installed, and both work great.
Summary: So far this is a great laptop for $799. I3 processor, good graphics card, good battery life while playing WOW (at least 2 hours maybe more). I bought this laptop for my wife and an ASUS gaming laptop for myself (at twice the price). I've been using this one more than the one I got me because I can play games while we watch TV and not have to plug it in because the battery life is so good. Very light and thin, too. I've only had it a month, so no reliability data.
Summary: This laptop's reliability and power is sufficient for multitasking, gaming, as well as music editing. For the price, there is no competition in the 14" class of laptops. However; it may be nothing, but the laptop seems to freeze and hiccup on power 4gear battery saver mode more than average. Just opening Sony's site required me to hard reboot the laptop. However, high-power and balanced modes work beautifully.
Summary: Okay so before you blow this off as a bias review for any reason, I'll preface my review by mentioning I've worked as a sales associate at a large electronics store for quite some time. That being said, I've seen many, many laptops come and go and, point blank, this IS the best LAPTOP (not workstation) I've seen to date.
Decent, lightweight laptop but has some glaring issues...

Summary: I recently purchased the UL80JT after waiting 6 months from it's initial announcement in January. This laptop seemingly had everything I was looking for in a laptop: lightweight construction, long battery life, portability, and Nvidia Optimus technology. After using it for a about a week and some internet investigation, I have found the problems I am experiencing are far too common. First the laptop has some minor keyboard flex.
