Summary: I was previously a diehard Dell owner (something about which I am now ashamed). This product arrived on time and shipped quickly. It was packaged pretty well. The laptop looks expensive, but was probably the least expensive one I've owned...and it works better than my previous $2,300 laptop. It never crashes, never freezes, never erases my files, etc. The hardware works fine. It's very versatile software-wise. I highly recommend it.
Summary: I bought the ASUS U56E-BBL6 for my wife to use during her Masters. I wanted a computer that would take some software/improper filing abuse. She will be attending a couple online courses as well as in person. I wanted to ensure she had no technical difficulties with her online courses. I'm very confident in the performance of this machine as it can handle a number of programs using a great amount of CPU.
This laptop is more than I asked for; there isn't one better!!

Summary: Looking for a new laptop isn't always easy; there are just so many different brands and models to choose from. However, when I came across this guy I was sold. This laptop is solid! Extremely fast boot up time and fast processing abilities. The laptop is really well built, there is no flexing and the aluminum on the top is stylish and doesn't scratch easy. Keys are big and easy to use and the track pad is really sensitive and works great.
Summary: I've been satisfied with this computer. It is aesthetically appealing and functions great. The only thing that bothers me is the scroll area-it's really easy to zoom in and out of pages, and it throws me off sometimes.
Summary: I like this laptop for specs. Ive got it for 480$ and i am absolutely satisfied with purchase. I like the way it looks, i like metal lid and very very comfortable, quiet and soft keyboard. It had some problems after windows updates with FN keys, but you can fix it just with BIOS update. Laptop is very light. It is loud, when it get's to games and heavy stuff, but all other time it is quiet enough.
Summary: I purchased this laptop at BestBuy about 4 months ago. I was replacing a 5 year old Sony Vaio that had it's wireless switch crap out. I still use the Vaio in a docking station hard wired to the network and it works great. The ASUS was $599.00 so it was cheaper than Amazon has it but I would have paid higher for it. The battery life alone sets it apart from any laptop I have ever owned.
Summary: This computer is really fast and the keyboard feels nice. This was my first laptop so I was surprised by a few things. The speakers on this one are mousy quiet. ASUS does that on this model to save battery power. The keyboard is not backlit either for the same reason. So far that has not been a problem. I had to change the setting for TouchPad Sensativity.
Summary: You will not find a laptop of this quality for this price anywhere else. I am VERY pleased with this purchase. Pros: Very fast lightweight 3 USB ports Battery life/Performance setting (this is a really cool feature) AMAZING battery life large hard drive great looking laptop Cons: The only small con is that when you use the function keys to change screen settings it can be slightly delayed. BUT it is a minor flaw and this computer is well worth the money!
Summary: I've had this notebook for 5 months now and I don't regret the purchase. Good battery life, nice keyboard and a good amount of RAM makes it a great deal. I've trusted asus for many years going back where it only made PC's motherboards. As a previous reviewer said, speakers are OK for this kind of computer. Don't expect hugh quality audio! but I guess it's something common in almost all laptops. USB 3.0 it's a plus, along with an HDMI port.
