Summary: Had this for 3 years now. Bought it for 670 at best buy new and do not recommend paying much more for it. Especially as this computer is now 3 years old. I'm surprised someone is peddling it for 850! Rip off!!! Pros Windows 7 not that Win8 monstrosity Overall nice build quality, nice rubber hand rest, good keyboard. Very happy with this aspect of it. I don't like laptops that look and feel cheap.
Summary: Let me start off by saying that I like this machine very much and I am not as tech savvy as many of you probably are. But it came loaded with a lot of things that either slowed it down or messed with the internet connectivity. I was in one location when I purchased it and I connected to the Wi-Fi in that initial location as a public network. Machine worked like a charm.
Summary: I really like this computer. However, I've been having a lot of problems with it crashing randomly. I'm sure it's not the computers fault, but rather the person who refurbished it (I bought it refurbished from Tigerdirect through Amazon). I would recommend this computer, minus of course the random crashing.
Summary: Bought a refurbished product at a real discount. The DVD drive was broken but the seller sent a replacement within a few days. The performance of the computer is excellent. The energy usage is far better than the other laptops I use. I intend to copy its settings to use in my other computers. The battery life is fantastic as well. The profile of the laptop is sleet and attractive while the battery sticks out as sort of a rest to incline the laptop for typing.
Summary: I bought this laptop at Best Buy for $599--mine has a 750 gig drive, though. I've had it for about two weeks now, and I'm pretty happy with it. What I needed: I needed a notebook that would be reliable through my senior year of college (including, importantly, writing a thesis) for my word processing, number-crunching, and research needs. I'm also a relatively low-key PC gamer, so a computer that can hold up to Minecraft is a plus.
Summary: I bought this laptop 9 months ago for school and I am pleased. The one knock I have is the extremely annoying ASUS firmware... Updates that never work, downloads that don't work, etc. as for performance and battery life I am very pleased. ASUS claims 10 hours of battery life..... Well if you run on power mode and only type then possibly.... However, for average computing you're looking at 5.5-6 hours of battery life tops.
Summary: This is a very user friendly computer. I find it very convenient and easy to use; however, there is no word processing program so you have to purchase one if you wish to compose any letters. All in all it is a great computer. As this was my first laptop, I had to have my kids help me set up wifi and such but it was well worth the money.
