Summary: My Girlfriend's Sister has two of these laptops. They were both purchased at the same time and both barely lasted a year before suffering two different mother board failures. GPU went out on one and the SATA connector went out on the other. Better off buying a refurb'd Mac or a Toshiba.
Summary: I have a Asus laptop and after 1.25 years it crapped out. It started shutting off randomly and very frequently. I called tech support, they told me if I did a factory reset they were 99.999999999% sure that it would fix my problem - I did what they instructed and it did NOT fix the problem.
Summary: I have an Asus U56E I5 processor 600 GB Hard drive and 6 GB ram.First my wireless stopped working. It would start fine and then just cut out. I have had to buy an external wireless card. Then my computer started shutting off randomly if it was on battery.
Summary: I've owned few laptops in my life and this one is the worst by far. The touchpad issue is just unbearable. Sometimes I sit still and watch the cursor just jump all around the screen by itself. Other times, I just cannot control it.
Summary: This computer did not connect to the internet, arrived with dents, and had a lot of issues. It was refurbished and had clearly been worked on before. I had to bring it to a professional to run a diagnostic on it, before I simply ended up sending it back-which the seller made me pay for and was a...
Summary: This laptop didn't stay connected to the internet. It was extremely slow when it worked. Web pages often would not display at all. My old laptop worked perfectly fine at the same time this one did not. The cursor was tricky to click on. I would not recommend this laptop to anyone.
Summary: I bought a U56E-BBL5 last year and the motherboard began to fail at about 13 months (unit kept randomly shutting itself off). By 16 months, the motherboard rendered the laptop unusable. ASUS would not honor the repair even though the unit was just a few months out of warranty.
ASUS makes crap laptops and doesn't stand behind them!!

Summary: I bought this computer from Best Buy. We bought it for my wife for her work. The thing started rebooting itself and became so unreliable because of all the work my wife lost. Best Buy wouldn't do squat. Won't buy anything from them again.
Summary: A few things you should know: Mine did NOT ship with a windows 7 CD -- I had assumed it had but when I actually opened the package all I found was a piece of cardboard masquerading as a disk. Asus has terrible customer support. They are not slow, but they are very limited.
