Summary: Overall, this computer is good. I read various other reviews prior to buying and upon now owning, I agree with some complaints such as the keyboard having a somewhat flimsy feel to it (no need to pound on the keys) and the lack of the keyboard being lit. To date, the processing seems to be great. I use it for work, internet use, and music/movie use. The screen and video card are great...definitely vivid. The speakers are lacking somewhat in my opinion.
Summary: This is a very nice, sleek and very portable rig with a great feature set. Looks good and runs good. Good warranty and decent build quality. A good all around choice suitable for many purposes. Pros: -- Nice styling, sleek, nice brushed aluminum top, looks good. -- Good processor -- should be fast enough for most anything. -- Optimus graphics and discrete gfx card (G310M) means decent video performance without sacrificing battery life.
Summary: I really like this notebook. It is light, good looking and runs beautifully. What I don't like is the short life of the battery that comes with it. It tops out at 4 hours total. Maybe I should have purchased another battery with it, but that is the way this one works. Other than that I can recommend this as an excellent machine.
Summary: I use this computer to connect with my larger work laptop and my desktop in my office. It works really well for these purposes. I can use Remote desktop and not have to worry about the battery for hours if I need to move around. I can also hook this up to my tv using an HDMI cable and stream movies from my other computers, right onto the TV in the living room.
Summary: 6+ of battery life when web browsing. Even in Quiet Office mode, the laptop is very snappy and responsive. It handles Source/Unreal engine games like a champ at native res, with most details on high. Remains quiet and cool under load. My unit exhibits little to no keyboard flex. My only complaints are that the touchpad is too jittery when trying to make precise movements, that the optical drive is almost impossible to open without some serious effort, and that the amount...
Pros: Comfortable Keyboard, Fast, Lightweight, Long Battery Life, Powerful, Quiet
Summary: As a former owner of the Asus UL80JT, the U45JC is a much better option and I am glad I purchase this instead. First big difference between the two and the most important, this laptop uses the Core i3-370M which is a standard mobile processor as opposed to the much weaker Core i3-330UM (ULV). This makes a big difference when running more intense software and multitasking.
Summary: After quite a while with this machine, I've decided that it's not quite the five star laptop I wanted. I'll explain why later, but for the most part, I've been impressed or satisfied with this computer. My first impression of this machine was good: good build, fair screen quality, and light (about 4 lbs). The computer's overall performance is definitely a plus. The ability to upgrade to 8Gb Ram gives this machine some nice headroom for future upgrades, too.
