Summary: I bought this laptop for my wife and I am happy to say that it meets all my expecations performance wise. It's light and sleek and fast. I reformatted it after getting it because companies always muck up computers with extra worthless software.
Summary: My Asus is so light, starts up quickly, and I love that the wireless turns on instantly instead of my computer looking for a signal, connecting, etc. My only wish would be for a backlit keyboard.
Summary: Best overall laptop I have seen/used. I run 3d modelling programs, rendering, photoshop, etc - all on the battery, and still can squeeze a 5 hour flight out of it. It's the true architect's laptop. Light enough to chill with on the road, but strong enough to turn it up a notch.
Pros: Battery life is great, features are great, I/O ports are great, Weight is great.
Summary: I've been using this U36SD-DH51 for the last couple weeks, and I love it. It is thin, light and fast. The battery life for regular stuff like web browsing, even with the screen brightness up, is about 7 hours (though I fully expect that to wane as the battery ages).
Summary: I got the equivalent U36SD-A1. I love the construction and speed of this computer. It is a little heavier than an Ultrabook or Macbook-air. But, you get the benefit of a fully powered i5 even running at 3.0GHz well ventilated. I think this is the way to go.
Summary: The pros, for me, greatly outweigh the few design flaws. I'm a happy camper.
Pros: I was looking for a machine which was nearly "ultra-portable," but also packed enough of a punch to serve as a powerful desktop replacement. This was it. 2.9Ghz i5 and a discrete 520m, paired with "10 hour" (more like 7.5 [still impressive]) battery made this the deal for me. The design is very s...
Cons: A few small things: -Speakers are very poor. Loud but tinny sounding. -Mouse pad is poor. Recommend buying a mouse. -Glossy screen can be annoying.
Summary: Owned this for a few months. It is a great piece of kit. Powerful processor, dedicated graphics, 8+ hours of battery time and weighs only 1.66kg. Also looks good. I'm not going to call it a Macbook Pro killer as it has a higher spec than the MBP and is half its price.
