HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Don't bother wasting your time with the computer because of the company.

Summary: I really liked ASUS products until I dealt with customer service today. My u35jc was suppose to come with 1 year of accidental damage protection, well what they don't tell you is that you have to "activate" it or they won't cover you. EVEN IF IT HAS ONLY BEEN 10 OF THE 12 months. With verifiable receipts and such to prove it, they WON"T help you. Then they will just put you on hold for an hour to "wait for a supervisor" only to hang up on you.
Summary: I bought it recently during a trip to the US (Congress in Chicago). At the first time I turned it on it looked ok, but as days went by I started to notice malfunction. I thought it was because the Windows 7 home version, and decided to upgrade to Ultimate version. No improvement... As soon as I got back to Brazil it stopped working (even not launching Windows). I took it to many local technical assistances, and nobody could fix it.
Great Price, Light Weight, Long Battery Life... POOR PERFORMACE

Summary: I usually do not write up reviews on online products I buy unless it either exceeds my expectations or I find it not worth the money and the frustration. This review is for the latter unfortunately. I've spent many months searching for the perfect laptop to accompany me on my 20hr flights back and forth to Japan from the US. After reading numerous great reviews on the ASUS U35J series, I took my chances and made the purchase in October 2010.
Summary: My laptop arrived around early December. The battery was dead on arrival. I immediately sent the batter back to ASUS HQ in California, and it was delivered around mid-December. It has been three weeks already, and I still do not have my battery. I have called the customer service many times, and they have no information on the status of this issue. All they can do is promise another "investigation".
