Summary: The motherboard choked on this. I sent it back and they replaced it with "a better one". I was told it was a known issue. The cost of sending it back $58.13 (tracked and insured) ***I would have been happy if it got tossed in a dumpster by the courier. I was told by the 1st customer service rep it is not covered. Now that's something I am trying to get refunded for as I was just told it should have been covered by a 2nd customer service rep. I just wrote up a complaint.
Summary: I've been using my U24E for a few months now and am about as happy as could be, especially for the price. Just realized after posting that the one I have has the i5 processor, which is quick enough for my needs and works faster than many of my friends home computers. The i7 will be just a bit faster, assuming your computing needs can detect the slight difference.
Summary: I bought this laptop in March 2012, in my defense it was before it was available on Amazon and from a competitor. I think this product is outstanding in almost every way. It has pros and cons and I'm not even docking it a single star for its cons. Pros: Small. I replaced the eeePC 1000 with it. It's slightly bigger and I knew that going in. On a personal note, the keyboard is a marked improvement over the eeePC.
Summary: For my uses this is about the perfect laptop. I wanted a fast, powerful laptop that could be easily carried around for airplane travel and that is just what this is. I've had no problems so far. I plan on buying more ram from an outside source since it is pretty expensive when bought with the computer. The only problem is that I waited about a month to get the machine. It was very hard getting the combination of computer chip and screen.

Summary: First, I'd like to confirm this laptop works perfectly with 16GB RAM (as other reviewers have stated). I've installed the Komputerbay 16GB (2x 8GB) DDR3 PC3-10600 10666 1333MHz SODIMM 204-Pin Laptop Memory 9-9-9-25 and it works perfectly (just wanted to be clear this particular brand works fine). This memory is cheap and so far works as advertised. The Windows Experience Index score for the memory is 7.5 (on a scale of 1 to 7.9), this is VERY good.
Summary: Everything about this laptop is great! Lots of CPU power, small form factor, good battery life, great screen. Except just one small thing... ASUS screwed up the BIOS and the machine will not recognize any SATA III device. The hardware should support it, but after two BIOS updates all the way up to version 207, no SATA III device will be detected on boot. Doesn't matter if the device is backwards compatible or not!
Summary: I bought this item with the Micron Crucial 16GB kit [Crucial PN: CT2KIT102464BF1339] - first thing I did was to shrink windows, install the 16GB and install Ubuntu 12.04 (the operating system that I use to work) - until now the performance is very (really very) good.
Summary: I've owned one of these for a few weeks now. This is a very nice netbook style machine. Its very fast and lightweight with an 11" screen which is slightly larger than the average 10" netbook. It comes packed with a lot of bloatware from ASUS and will be much faster once its removed, there are some websites out there with tips on doing that.
Summary: I bought this early this month, so I've got about three weeks of hands-on time with ASUS U24E. I had previously bought the ASUS G74SX-DH71 Full HD 17.3-Inch LED Gaming Laptop - Republic of Gamers (Black) as a desktop replacement, and was very pleased with the laptop, so when I needed a much more portable one, I ended up feeling confident that ASUS could provide a smaller package that I would like as well.
