Review Asus Transformer Book TX300CA Convertible

Notebookcheck
25 August 2013
  • Summary: Big screen tablet. Smartphones are growing so browsing and gaming becomes more pleasant. Tablets are growing so we can work more productively and performantly. Is Asus heading in the right direction?
  • Pros: High-grade aluminum stability, Concept with much memory space (HDD in dock), Mode: dock serves as energy filling station, Color-intensive IPS panel, Low system noise, Optically speaking nearly a real notebook, Good keyboard, Many connections incl. Ethernet & DisplayPort, The overall concept. It is the first convertible that you don't immediately recognize as a docking concept. Additionally you can write with it and handle it like a notebook. The sound quality is outst...
  • Cons: High weight, USB ports too close to each other, Core i7 clearly below standard, Throttled HD 4000, Longer battery runtimes. We expect more of two batteries than 3:34 to 5:42 hours (WLAN browsing; notebook mode off/on).

Asus Transformer Book TX300CA Review

Tech2
30 July 2013
  • Summary: Asus has once again built a very finely crafted and desirable product, but that’s not enough to make a it a commercial success. The Core i5 variant of the Transformer Book is priced at a whopping Rs 91,999, which we find exorbitantly expensive. Samsung’s ATIV hybrid PC shares a similar configuration (minus the 500GB HDD) and design and is priced almost Rs 20,000 lesser. Our other main issue with the Transformer Book is the weight.

  • Conclusion: Perhaps our biggest issue with the Transformer Book is timing, with the system arriving just as more battery-friendly "Haswell" systems are starting to reach the market. While the combined configuration's runtime is impressive, the tablet alone doesn't last as long as a tablet should. Here's hoping Asus has a successor up its sleeve.
  • Pros: Large, sharp, bright screen, Excellent battery life in laptop mode, Fast performance when plugged in, Detachable design, Lots of storage
  • Cons: Heavy for its class in laptop mode, Performance drops significantly running on battery, Memory isn't upgradable

ASUS Transformer Book TX300CA

MobileTechReview.com
14 June 2013
  • Conclusion: The Asus Transformer Book TX300 is the best Windows 8 transformer to date. Granted, at $1,499 for the high end model we tested, it should be great. The IPS display is simply stunning and the machine is quite fast. It has the excellent build quality and style we've come to expect from a Zenbook premium model and it's extremely rigid and sturdy yet slim and elegant.
  • Pros: Equally good as a tablet and a laptop. Superb full HD display, attractive all-metal casing, secondary HDD in dock, good selection of ports.
  • Cons: Tablet and keyboard dock weigh 4.2 lbs., which is a bit heavy for a 13" Ultrabook. Battery life just OK.

Test Asus Transformer Book TX300CA Convertible

Notebookcheck
18 August 2013
  • Conclusion: Asus geht den richtigen Weg.
Ethernet, DisplayPort
  • Cons: Hohes Gewicht, USB-Ports zu dicht, Core i7 deutlich unter Niveau, Gedrosselte HD 4000
