Summary: I used this machine very lightly. It has never even been out of the house. However, after warranty expired it began experiencing problems in restart and shutdown. Best buy Geek squad could not fix it. Missing files and Recovery media. Had to send it to ASUS in Milpitas, Ca. Got a RMA authorization from them. They have the machine for over a month. Initially tried to tell me the LCD was cracked. When I asked for evidence....like pictures..

Summary: Product worked great for a few weeks then a BSOD would randomly occur (continues to happen). I contacted ASUS tech support via online and their 1-888 number and they told me to factory reset the device (have done this twice) . It took me 30 minutes to reboot this laptop just to write this review. I would recommend staying from ASUS entirely. Buyer beware.
Summary: I purchased mine about 1 year ago, and went to the expense to have it downgraded to Windows 7 since Windows 8 sucks. It was going along well, but then I had hardware failure - could not connect to the internet. Luckily it was within 1 year, so I sent it back to ASUS and sure, enough, they replaced the bad hardware, and sent it back with a clean copy of WINDOWS 8! I sent in all the paperwork indicating WINDOWS 7! I'm going to sell it as is and get something else.
Summary: Only use the notebook for about 30 days, while towards upgrade and then reboot and gave no sign of life. Only one LED lights up, try to start the hard disk and then stops. Now try changing the RAM, the hard disk and even the bios battery without any improvement. In short I was cheated. I am very desepcionado and regretted Amanzon bought for my notebook. Had placed my trust and now I have no money to buy back again.
Summary: The laptop I bought was advertised as new but missing power supply. Mouse pad did not function and mfg warranty was a already 6 months old meaning that the item was sold to another person initially and not new. Seller did not want to accept return of faulty item. I will not buy or recommend this seller to anyone. ASUS replaced the faulty mouse pad and turn around was slow.,it has a one-piece mouse that does not select and scroll well.
Summary: The lack of touchscreen makes Windows 8 infuriating. Even with gestures turned off, the keyboard would skip and sputter all over the screen, despite my palms being up and not brushing the touchpad. Finally, it died when my toddler knocked it off the couch. Right after the 1 year mark of course. Considered it a blessing in disguise.
This has to be the worst computer I have EVER owned!

Summary: I had this for 1 month, had to send it back to have all the software reinstalled and now, right at the 1 year mark, the keyboard/mouse doesn't work at all! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! IT IS JUNK!
Summary: After only 20 minutes of use this shut own for no reason, and over the next few days it either froze or shut down. Too many problems to try to trouble shoot for a new computer. I had no time to try and debug I just sent the junk back. I really liked the design and what it offered for the price. only if it could deliver. oh well.
Summary: I ordered the ASUS S56CA 15.6" (500 GB, Intel Core i3 3rd Gen., 1.8 GHz, 4 GB) Ultrabook - Black - S56CA-WH31. It arrived at my home DOA. What else can I say after that? I returned it, along with everything else I purchased to go with it that same day. So after a lot of expenses I had NOTHING that I could actually use and I had to return everything so I could at least get most of my money back, Wonderful experience? Nope! I sure don't think so.
