Summary: Good snappy laptop for the price. It seems like it sat in a warehouse for a while because the battery was dead on arrival and it took the better part of a day to get it patched up. Once it was patched and charged it ran quite well. Battery life is a bit underwhelming but its what I expected. Came with a external dvd/w drive that came in handy to install office.
Summary: Bought these for xmas presents for my parents, for facebook and its games along with basic internet, add in access to windows store games and touch, it will be way more than adequate for their needs.
Pros: Exactly what I was looking for. Fully functional performance for anything outside of proper high end computer games. With the addition of an ssd allows for nearly instant wake times and under 15 second boot and shutdown time.
Cons: The display looks very good perfectly straight on, but with any angle it washes out pretty badly. Means you have to adjust the display angle if you are setting it on your lap or a table pretty regularly. It is workable, but annoying to me. I doubt my parents will notice.
Summary: I bought this laptop for my husband so that he could have a toy to play with. He is enjoying it immensely. He is able to connect it to our TV and watch Netflix and he recently downloaded a fun music mix program that allows him to use the touch screen to "scratch" as a DJ. I reviewed a lot of laptops for days and am very satisfied with my purchase.
Summary: This is a great ultra-portable. Pro's: - portability - keyboard - touchscreen - build quality - sexy look Con's: - screen glare - battery life (I am getting 4 hours max) Overall I can highly recommend it
Summary: As other reviewers have said this is a great laptop that doesn't skim on the quality for a budget pricetag. I also purchased this computer with a coupon from Staples for $425 +tax. It weighs as light as a netbook but with a sleek metal casing. There is a learning curve to Windows 8, and it's quite frustrating. I have had this laptop for a week, and several times my keyboard both touchscreen and physical froze up occasionally.
Summary: This lightweight laptop/netbook gives me the convenience of a touch screen tablet (with a larger screen than a tablet) with a proper keyboard and decent computer incorporated. My wife has an iPad with a keyboard and the ASUS is a much neater and useful arrangement. Appears to be very well built. I am very pleased with it.
Summary: It's an excellent notebook from Asus. Item as described and does what it was built for. Win8 a bit strange first but can be learned quickly and it's a great op system too. I'm a novice user, no gaming n programming use. So for me it works well. The battery life is a bit of a pin - it doesn't last too long, aprox. 2-3 hrs, so the notebook is often on the charger; and the Stand-by mode noticeably drains the battery too.
Good Performance and Portability - Good Value - Poor Charger

Summary: The laptop works well and is responsive five months after purchase. It wakes from sleep mode in a couple of seconds. The cold boot time is slow. The touch screen is good but not in bright sunlight. This is a very good compromise for price, performance and portability. The machine was used as a WAMP development server with no performance problems until the Windows 8.1 upgrade broke it. Thanks Microsoft! Re-installing should fix that one.
