Summary: Conclusion: I sooo wish I had purchased another, less buggy laptop. Pros: Small, more easily carried than most. Fast CPU. It was cheap, $500, which included sufficient RAM, touchscreen, Windows 8. (It all sounded so wonderful.) It does still work at its buggy best after 5 months and I use it for things like this review. Cons: Hangs/freezes on every program I use, MS Word, IE, Excel, and others, which requires some work arounds and/or restart. Lost work.
Summary: not as quick as i hoped but done ok for a year and a bit - then the hard drive failed now no one suggested i create a repair disc for windows 8 and now the laptop is no good i have replace hard drive and contacted Asus who have very poor customer service and want to charge me for a software i already purchased with the laptop SO BE WARNED:- WITH THIS LAPTOP YOU DONT GET ANY BACKUP FROM ASUS , YOU DONT GET ANY WINDOWS DISC TO REINSTALL OPERATION SYSTEM IF THE HARD DRIVE...

Summary: I've been using Macbook Pro for 6 years and decided in order to work whilst travelling I needed something small, so why not consider Windows 8. Originally I checked out the specs and was amazed by it. Once the product arrived, the first few days was pretty exciting due to exploring the features, etc. After a week, I lost the love for it. Crashes daily. Many tools not needed. Will not buy again.
Summary: when I received the laptop , the security label had been tampered with , ie restuck. Word came installed on the Asus as I can see it in Programs, but there was no Product Key in the box ,also the company did not send me a receipt for the amount. I contacted DGadget who I purchased the laptop from & eventually got a reply saying that they had attached a receipt which they had , but the tampering of the security seal was "probably" part of a stock check.
Summary: Screen touch facility not good around edges. Could do with more RAM but cant upgrade as modules are hardwired into the laptop. Guess you get what u pay for but this is first laptop I have ever bought where the RAM cud not be upgraded.
Excerpt: I have owned the Asus S200E for around nine months now - my previous laptop died and as it's replacement, I wanted one with a touch screen although I didn't want to pay very much. I also wanted a small notebook as I transport it quite a bit. This one was £420 in PC world and complete with touchscreen as I wanted - it was the cheapest one (by a mile) at the time with that feature. It's also got a very compact 11.6 inch screen and only measures around 30cm x 20cm x 2.5cm.
