Pros: Worked great when the display would stay on.
Cons: The display would randomly go black and all I could see was the cursor on the screen. Looked this up online and read others having same issue. I would close the lid and slowly open it back up and the display would sometimes come one. Or I would have to plug in the power adapter for the display to turn on. And yes i made sure it was fully charged. Contacted newegg for a refund and was told it would be no problem since it was defective. I get an email from the rma depar...
Summary: I have say I like this computer. The only problem I have is when I am typing if my had hits the mouse area pad it will take me off what I am typing. I have to be very careful not to touch the pad. Also I put in that I do not want to use a password to get on every time & it will not let me do that. I guess it is good to have a password. =D Other then that it seems to be really great.
Excerpt: When it first became available I bought a Google Nexus 7 manufactured by Asus and was impressed by its design and performance. When it became time now to replace my 7 year notebook computer Asus came to mind and I bought the model R510D. Another incentive was Windows 8.1 which I like very much. If you are asking yourself do apps have any business being on a PC just download "World Astro Clock".
Summary: Overall, nice computer that fits my needs as a student who needed a laptop but also wanted a little more power for gaming too. Windows 8 is kind of a pain that has caused a few troubles, but it isn't as bad once you get used to it and use a usb mouse instead of the pad.
I like it and you can't get anything better for the price!

Pros: Great laptop for the price, you really can't find anything better. This was on sale for a few days for $580 so i jumped on the opportunity. So far so good. I happen to be one of the people who enjoy windows 8/8.1 so i don't know why people knock this laptop for that reason. Get use to it its really not that complicated. Also its almost impossible to find a laptop now a days running windows 7 with any decent specs, so don't punish ASUS, Microsoft is the one pushing Win...
Cons: Battery life is not very good. I get anywhere between 1.5 - 3 hours depending on what you are doing.
Summary: Laptop is snappy with a SSD drive. Lightweight. Compact. Travels well. Only flaw I have found is the touch pad buttons are a bit weak on the side and the sd card reader. The sd card reader is placed on the underside of the laptop. You need a pair of tweezers to get the card out. MAJOR DESIGN FLAW!!!! I am a photographer. I want to remove weight and equipment. Not add a pair of tweezers to my arsenal of supplies I need in the field to change my cards.
