Summary: All in all, this is a solid laptop. And it is a bargain, especially if you can get it on sale.
Pros: -A-5750 w/8760M is plenty for some light gaming since AMD can utilize its "dual graphics feature" which allows it to use the APU's graphics component as well as the discrete GPU to improve performance.
Cons: -No SSD . While not exactly a deal breaker when it comes to laptops of this price range, having one would've been very nice.
Summary: All around this looks like a good laptop, but I found ASUS support to be unhelpful, especially live chat support. If ASUS did a better job of keeping up to date graphics drivers, I'd be a lot happier. Perhaps they will release updated drivers once Windows 9 comes out.
Pros: I bought this laptop because it was on sale and had a dedicated graphics card for casual gaming. I needed a new laptop for grad school and this seem to fit the bill. The laptop runs pretty quickly, even on battery power.
Cons: I've had several issues with this laptop when it comes to gaming. I bought this laptop because a couple of other reviews stated that it could run WoW at 60fps on moderate settings. Unfortunately, this was not my experience. I was constantly stuck at 20-30fps no matter what settings I used. I found phone support to be unhelpful, but I got a different person each time and they made me do the same troubleshooting over and over again. Update drivers on the site and if tha...
Pros: MaryAnn A Nguyen was amazing, she was the best customer rep Ive ever felt with she was kind, considerate, attentative, and extremely helpful. The call took less time than the waiting time to talk to her, and if I had the chance I would wait longer just to have her as my rep.
Summary: Your best bet is to try to avoid this one, I saw a couple of other reviews that alluded to update issues as well. ASUS did not do proper QA when they launched this product, which is a shame because usually their products are great.
Pros: -Decent Screen
Cons: Had it for about a week until a "critical" windows update had to be installed. As soon as I did that I got the dreaded "Failed Update" loop. Basically there is no solution to the problem. Spent a lot of time and frustration troubleshooting this one. Will RMA, very disappointing experience.
Summary: This is my secondary computer that was an upgrade from a four year old HP netbook. Its a great basic computer without anything extra. Its not top of the line. Its not a touchscreen. But I got the 1 year accident warranty and the 2 year regular warranty. And it cost me $300 so I'm extremely thrilled with how much computer I got for my money.
Pros: Great basic computer. DVDs play well except for a slight second or two an hour when the sound and picture don't match. Streaming and picture quality are great.
Cons: The mouse pad is too sensitive for me. The internet/network connection is slightly slower than I was expecting.
Summary: this laptop is very thin and light , battery cant be removed , and inside holds a CUSTOM Asus battery not like the old days where they used those cylinder like batteries back in the old model laptops.
Pros: Screen quality is very nice.. no dead pixels SO FAR...
Cons: If you want to upgrade parts you need unscrew the bottom of the laptop and the plate is held by some clips.
