Summary: I rated this product two stars because of the trouble I had while using this laptop. The first few months I liked the laptop just fine, it was perfect and had everything I was expecting until 4 months after I bought it I encountered a problem. My laptop would freeze seemingly, whenever I did anything graphics related such as playing a game or watching a video.
Summary: Received numerous BSOD's from IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION, and two other's I cannot remember. I've attempted to get support from Asus but the 48 hours or 72 hours they were supposed to get back to me lapsed, took about 5 business days for them to send me an emailing stating that I should contact them, not one piece of advice. I'm displeased with this laptop.
Summary: wow! I just got this laptop today and sofar so good; will update after a month or so w/additional information. May 2011: So Ive had this laptop for a about 2 mts now and I am finally used to the island/chicklet keyboard; its not bad; I have however yet to use it to its extreme; heck I just ordered MS office 2010 today, guess I will have a better idea of its full potential once I transfer all my work over and see how it handles the various tasks.
Summary: I would like to say that first off Amazon has awesome customer service; there were some problems with my shipping and they handled the problem without any fuss or complaints. Now, on to the product. I was looking for a laptop that had decent battery life, while not playing games, but could still turn on the power when I wanted to play a game on the move or while just sitting on the couch with my wife.
Summary: its great laptop. runs all the games so far. (Dirt 2, CIV5). no problems whatching high quality videos or multitasking. core i5-450M works fine. though now I would even appreciate stronger processor, though this one never lagged, but still if there is an option try to fiond higher clockrates. its nice to watch turboboost app showing higher performance. among the cons would battery could be stronger. here is 6 cell.
Summary: i was comparing the Asus n43if and this one! since the n43if has Nvidia GT425, i heard GT 335 is better for playing 3D games so i choose the n82jv.i thought the design would be ugly, but in fact it looks fabulous! i5 is fast and GPU is great for gaming! quality and price are good for student who want a 14 inch gaming labtop.
Summary: I wasn't even able to utilize this notebook when it arrived. Several keys were dead on arrival. I was pretty annoyed. Ok I thought fine this must be a manufacturing error, a simple replacement of the keyboard. Encouraged by all the warranty stickers and promises of awesome service, I was more than pleased to wait a little while longer to get to use it.
Summary: This notebook is far from perfect, but it's the best I've found for a 14-inch gaming capable laptop. I've used and returned an HP Envy 14 and a Lenovo Y460 in favor of this notebook. Build: Excellent. The whole machine feels very solid. Very little flex anywhere. Keyboard: Keys feel great and have just the right responsiveness. There is a teensy bit of flex with pressure, but it doesn't detract from the experience. Screen: Mediocre/lousy-ish.
