Pros: It was fast 3 years ago and it still is. You really need to tone down the graphics settings in newer games in order to get playable framerates. i7 gives great multi tasking as does my upgrade to 16gb of ram. After building a desktop and getting used to SSD performance, this felt impossibly slow. ...
Cons: Battery life is un-exceptional. I have 2 hour 40 minute classes a few nights per week and this thing barely makes it through, even on balanced/battery saver. By today's standards it's very bulky and heavy which is why i'm looking to upgrade
Summary: I actually removed the two terabyte drives and installed an SSD and another smaller drive. This machine flies with the SSD. Also, I'm running Windows 10 preview on this now. Runs great. No complaints now that the stupid metro interface isn't there by default and the start menu is a start menu again.
Pros: This was the best deal I could find for a powerful mobile workstation with this size of screen and full keyboard including 10-key. I think I actually got this via Newegg Flash and saved an extra $60 or something on it-- gotta love that. ASUS has always made good products, and I've always been ple...
Cons: Didn't actually come pre-installed with Windows 8. Came with a weird note saying I had to download it or something, if I recall. This isn't a big con for me, though, because I have archived copies of all the versions of Windows. For someone with less tech experience, though, this would be a con. ...
Pros: All and all, nice laptop. Love the lite keyboard. Has matte screen not sure what to think of that yet , but no reflection is kinda nice. Gloss displays look more vivid.
Cons: No subwoofer included ! Strange dual video sub-system that does not work the way it should. It has both intel and NVidia but seems to always want to use the intel. I would prefer just one GPU. I do not see the view angle advantage they speak of.... Heavy machine and BIG power supply
Summary: This computer is awesome. It is like a desktop and can handle any PC game you throw at it with ease. It does get hot, but its a laptop. The 17" version is very large, and therefore heavy. If that's ok, grab this thing. If not, maybe try the 15".
Summary: Exactly what I wanted for speed, and gaming. GREAT PRICE. only negative, if you play demanding games, can feel the heat built up quickly, don't know how much it would take to do damage. Have been conservative with my gaming time.
Summary: the laptop is ridiculous. 8 gigs of ram makes the thing run so smooth not to mention the 2 gigs on the nvidia graphics card. game are incredibly smooth and the resolution on the screen is crisp. the mini sub kicks like a champ, it compares to listening to music on a small boom-box.
Summary: Worst laptop I've ever had. GOing back to Lenovo. I purchased this in Tiger Direct store....was told best thing for me. The wireless quit working in 3 months...it shuts off every time a web page is changed....unrepairable and ASUS said tough, call the extended warranty place....NOT FAIR..
Summary: I've had this computer for a few days now, and so far everything is perfect. The construction is second to none, and absolutely nothing feels cheap. It's blazing fast, the specifications are amazing. In addition, the seller replaced one of the HDDs with a 500GB SSD for me.
