Summary: This computer is going to make many people get down in the club, in their cars, and under the covers. Excellent Intel Core I7 Processor blows beats like bubble gum.
Pros: - Practical and elegant (but solid) design. - Great value compared to other brands. - Decent sound from built-in speakers. - Supported by and suggested notebook for Pro-Tools 9 - Screen's hinges set within the laptop instead on top of it* *When you read about people complaining about the placemen...
Cons: - Becomes somewhat hot (and a 17.3" Cooler is hard to come by, so, if you are interested, buy one now). - 4gb of RAM will likely not be enough a year or two down the road for those of us who bought this computer for its specifications

Summary: Some of the preinstalled items you think are useless actually are important. Such as when you press the volume-adjust buttons at the top left, if you uninstall one of the ASUS programs it stops working.
Pros: Great hardware, love the feel and look of the laptop. Didn't take long to customize my own settings, uninstall useless stuff.
Cons: Like everyone else says, the powercord placement could be a little AWAY from the exhaust vent, but all you have to do it turn the cord the other way. I don't think there are any cons on my side so far.
Summary: So far I've had this notebook for about a month, and I have to say its pretty awesome. I haven't had any of the problems others have had and it is super fast. I use it for work/play/school. It does everything and does it PRONTO!
Pros: i7 4gb ddr that runs at 1333 huge hard drive awesome screen gorgeous everything usb 3.0
Cons: second hdd slot no e-sata plug = weak multi-touch kinda sucks no blu ray
Summary: Overall, very nice laptop, the media key thing wasn't worth taking off an egg, since I ended up finding a workaround for it (Google is your friend).
Pros: Amazing gaming performance. It has so far ran every game I've thrown at it on max settings without a hitch, this includes Test drive Unlimited, Blur, Burnout Paradise, GTA IV and DiRT 2. It's very sleek, the back is glossy with an interesting pattern in it. The keyboard is layed out well, and is ...
Cons: The media keys on the laptop keyboard only work for Windows Media Player, they don't work (and can't even be rebinded) in Foobar, Winamp, etc. This was especially frustrating for me as the media keys on the keyboard were a deciding factor in choosing the laptop.
Summary: This is a great value in a laptop. None of the cons listed are worth taking away an egg. If you want to use an external mouse check out some of the options from Logitech. They have several models that use a micro usb receiver.
Pros: Fast processor, bright display, has all the features I wanted and more.
Cons: Gives off quite a bit of heat from the left side. The usb ports and power input are on the sides of the machine and could interfere with an external mouse. The exterior of the laptop collects fingerprints like mad. The X1 model has one hard drive and no connector in the second HD bay.
Summary: I was considering paying $200 less for the model with the smaller hard drive and lesser quality speakers. I don't regret it at all after hearing it though.
Pros: Speed is amazing. The design is very sleek. It really is running everything I throw at it. The sound is awesome too!
Cons: These are really minor issues, not worth taking away an egg though. Oh my Lord, the bloatware!!! I spent the first 4 hours of ownership making backup disks and installing a virgin copy of Windows 7. The power cable plugs into the middle left side of the computer. The mouse clicker is a single "ro...
