Great product overall, but almost unusable with installed hard drive

Summary: This is a machine as solid as any I've ever owned. It has a solid frame, sleek aluminum lid (fingerprints show like crazy, though), ample USB ports and enough video ports to run 2 external monitors, and a great keyboard. It's packaged with an outstanding processor and enough RAM to make this thing future proof for a while. All that said, the hard drive is horrendous.
Summary: I have had this system for a couple of weeks now. Let's start with the positives: - Display: magnificent. ASUS does put a lot of work in to having some of the best displays on the market, and this one is glorious, Full HD. Non-touch. No complaints - Speakers: Again, glorious. Bang and Olufsen with a lot of thump. Comes with a subwoofer.
Summary: I don't normally write reviews. However, I thought everyone should have a heads up about certain anomalies of the machine. I bought this laptop based on the specs. I figured I could always update RAM from 6G to 8G pretty cheaply. The machine seems to be constructed well but...To open the CD/DVD tray the best way is to open Windows Explorer, right-click on the drive, and select eject. Otherwise it may take a few minutes of continually pressing the button on the drive.
Summary: realize that it's and electronic product, and that the life span of electronic products are difficult to predict. however in this instance, within a week of using this machine, the video failed with the maching in process of being returned to amazon. shoud the machine be replaced, there is the added burden of loading all of the various programs which is used as needed.
Summary: To start let me just say that make sure it doesn't say out of stock when you order it, I waited over 2 months for mine to be delivered before it finally turned up (it does say allow a month for delivery but if out of stock they aren't very helpful). I ordered it because it said that it was out of stock but assumed they would restock once they had more orders, but oh how wrong i was.
