Summary: so i bought this laptop in 27/2 its okay in general but there was a problem with fan cooler, its work all the time and its very noisy, i talked to asus support and tried to change drivers, bios but nothing solve the problem so they said send it to service center in your country (UAE), i send it to them 18/8 and since that day i didn't receive the laptop, every time i call, they said the part(fan) has not arrived from Taiwan, so actually i didn't use the laptop, firstly...
Summary: After a lot of research, I settled for the ES version, because I wanted to have windows 7, not windows 8 and I read on the web that windows 8 pcs with UEFI bios are a real pain to downgrade. I really wanted to like this machine. I have been running macbook pros for three generations, but lately almost exclusively under XP and then more recently 7, so I figured that why should I pay so much for Apple products when it is to run windows.
Summary: According to Best Buy this has a solid state drive and should not have failed. Of course Best Buy does not care. They said they would ship it back to ASUS and it would take 3 weeks. No they will not replace it and no they will not give you a loaner. So you spend this much and now have to go buy some crappy lap top to tide one over until the more expensive ASUS comes back. and on top of it all the the touch pad on the ASUS is the absolute worst part of the computer.
Summary: This computer has EXCELLENT specifications which is why I bought it. On paper, you really get a lot of computer for the money. This computer lasted me three weeks with only light to moderate use before completely crashing. Here are some pros and cons and why I returned it. Pros: Very comfortable keyboard (backlit too) Great size for work and leisure I like the integrated number pad for work (even thought it's not traditionally laid out) Cool color on top.
Summary: I just purchase this ASUS N56VJ. The Touch Pad is awful. The pointer jumps around and you just can't set it. Constantly jumps. I'm going to contact support and see if this is normal and/or can it be resolved. I not I'm sending it back.
Summary: Although this computer should be fast(i7)it is slower than my old i3 processor with the same data on it. Continually operates Slow then slower (sporadic). Took it to a computer shop to have programs etc removed that were not needed and it only seemed to make it worse..
Summary: I really hope that I will be able to come back and update with a more positive review. I searched a long time before deciding on this computer. Took it out of the box and began to set up. Windows immediately popped up wanting to do an important update. After that we have been stuck with messages such as "Windows Can't open ACPI ATK0100 Kernel Mode Driver" and "Windows can't find setup.exe".
Summary: arrived on time ,not a good laptop for the price, even with the Bang n Olufsen speaker and very annoying with windows 8 and the ultra tough sensitive mouse pad wont buy again , don't waste your money
Summary: I had seen reviews of other Asus laptops on Amazon saying that there had been problems with Amazon advertising some Asus laptops as having illuminated keyboards that did not. I saw this model advertised as having an illuminated keyboard and then specifically e-mailed Amazon customer services to confirm that it was correct. They said it definitely did have an illuminated keyboard. My laptop has just arrived today and, surprise surprise, no illuminated keyboard.
Summary: Pros:Great audio and visual. Screen is good and bright and anti glare. Good looking laptop, which met pretty much all the criteria I set, at a good price. Cons: build quality.. the touch pad is poor and after about a month of use the pad has become unseated (depressed on left side, raised up on right side) and not convinced it works properly still on the left side, as frequently have to reclick, furthermore the large pad means my palm frequently triggers the charm bar...
