Summary: Quick review: Was and still is one of the best computers I've ever used. When I first purchased it, I didn't know who Asus was. Asus is now the only computer/technology products I purchase. Purchased the notebook in August 2009 to replace the brand-new hunk of HP junk that's broke a week after I bought it but HP refused to repair it b/c it got wet in shipping and I didn't buy insurance.
Had to RMA four times but in the end got a solid unit

Summary: I have had this notebook for just about 4 years. The first year was spent RMAing it. Then finally I had a working laptop. The battery life was 3hrs on power saver doing things such web browsing and typing. Then one year ago the hard drive failed. So I replaced it. Now after 4 years of cleaning dust and replacing thermal paste it still works.
Summary: Overall, I am *super* happy with this laptop. It's spec'd just high enough to play current games at good settings and do major multitasking, which was my goal for a laptop. Performance: Although it comes with Vista 32-bit, I did a clean install of Win 7 Pro 64-bit, and although I can't remember the exact WEI scores on Vista (I think it was 5.6 overall), the performance increase was quite good with 64-bit Win 7.
Summary: this would have been the best deal for a laptop that i had found in the past 6 months except for the fact that it says that it comes with blu-ray but doesn't actually have it battery life is around 3.5 hours on the lowest possible performance settings JandR shipped it in two days 7000 in 3dmark06 most of the parts are outdated processor, ram etc but it is still future proof for everything besides games
Pros: BEST DEAL, Fast, Graphics card, Lightweight, Powerful, Quiet, Top of class proccesor
Cons: Long for a 15 incher, NO BLU-RAY, Poorly Designed Keyboard, Short Battery Life
Summary: I use this notebook solely for gaming purposes. I can pretty much play any games without any issues that I've tried on max settings except for Aion. This machine is great value for the money you paid for, it fitted my budget perfectly and you get the best performance/warranty for the money spent.
Summary: Update, 6/17/2010 The repaired computer continues to work great. My wife is very happy with it. #### It turned out that the Nvidia 240M was bad on my unit. Used ASUS support to send my laptop in for service. ASUS sent me a FedEx label, so shipping was free. They repaired my unit and sent it back to me. Took a little over a week to get it back. With Windows Vista 32 bit, it got a windows experience rating of 5.6.
Summary: The buttons of touchpad is very loose, as if they have already been used for a long time, especially the left button is depressed.I called ASUS and the representative said that's a DOA and issue a RMA for replacement, but then they just repair and sent back to me. I found that the buttons are not fixed well and the HD was formatted. I called ASUS and got another RMA.
REVISION: Fast, Cool, Inexpensive but Asus has TERRIBLE customer service)

Summary: REVISION: I've now had this computer for 5 months and I'd like to revise my earlier review. The notebook was fantastic until the power supply issues began. I've RMA'd the product back to Asus. However, they've had it for more than 3 weeks and are still waiting for parts. I can't imagine why they don't have parts on hand for a computer this recently manufactured.
