The speakers suck. Absolutely suck

Assman, Amazon
19 January 2015
  • Summary: First off, I had to remove Windows 8.1 from it because Asus machines just refuse to run Windows 8 and 8.1. They crash and have serious network issues. The speakers suck. Absolutely suck. The screen is pretty good, the CPU is grand but after less than a year the vid./sound card was shot out.

Great Price - Keyboard Issues though

timm h., Newegg
29 May 2014
  • Pros: Price was fantastic and the machine runs very well on the Windows 8 platform. Was able to handle multiple applications seamlessly
  • Cons: Certain keys on the keyboard have stopped working (C and R) which I find quite random. Have heard zero from ASUS support about options to repair so using workarounds for now

11 November 2013
  • Summary: I purchased this 7 months ago directly from Amazon. There were a few pros like the Icecool and Quick Startup feature but the negatives are adding up. I was getting used to the Windows 8 and sensitive touch pad and I tried to ignore some of the unexpected slowness issues or long periods it needed to...

Paul D. Yost, Amazon
14 August 2013
  • Summary: I actually sold an iPad on EBAY to get this laptop, because I needed more functionality and flat hard drive space. After a lot of searching, this seemed like the best bang for the buck (I got a brand new one for about $450.00.

Asus K55A-DS51

Kindle Customer, Amazon
25 July 2013
  • Summary: I really dislike the operating system that the computer came with. We have been unable to install a printer due to issue with this system. The computer itself in terms of appearance is fine. The touchpad is extremely sensitive and this makes it difficult to use.

C. Taylor, Amazon
2 July 2013
  • Summary: 5 STARS FOR ASUS. 2 STARS FOR MICROSOFT. My second return to Amazon... not their fault. + PLUSES: Very good construction, visually attractive, powerful internals, clear display - no problems at all and I recommend ASUS as a company and brand of computer over the Lenovo, Dell, and HP which I checked...

the laptop stopped working after one week

looking for quality, Amazon
24 June 2013
  • Summary: Even though it was not brand new I expected that the seller would have sold me an item of acceptable quality and in working order. I started off working well then suddenly after one week the laptop refused to boot up and was not recognizing the hard drive.

Scott, Amazon

  • Summary: I had an issue with the software not communicating with the disk drive and other hardware on the computer, so I chose to return it since it was new and I didn't want to have to fix a brand new laptop.
