Cons: I recently bought this for my kids. The BSOD started appearing a few days in. Ran all reg cleaners etc, and have malware and virus protection on, to no avail. These days, it keeps on failing on average of 3-5 times per day, without any pattern to the BSOD appearances. NOt sure how to get this fix...
Summary: I added an SSD which makes day to day things and boot up times much faster, but when it comes to processing, it is pretty slow. The Windows 8 to 8.1 upgrade took a long time, I left it and returned several times. Other updates also take a long time to process.
Pros: i3, 4GB RAM, Touch Screen, like new, Windows 8, all for under 300. Good battery life. Really great deal for just about anyone at $300. SSD upgrade makes most tasks pretty snappy.
Cons: the i3 is not upgradeable, but it is still a good computer.
Summary: The laptop arrived today. I purchased the laptop used and got a great deal w/free shipping. Right off the bat I removed the 2 gig memory module and installed a 4 gig Samsung module to give me 8 gigs total. There is one empty memory slot as the other 4 gig is hardwired onto the mobo.
Summary: Ordered not long ago and very disappointed...the laptop didn't even start the very first time. I had to send it to Asus for repair. Now it's working just fine, however it wasn't worth it the whole hussle and the praice I paid for it.
