Summary: We bought two of these as gifts, about a year ago, and neither laptop has had any problems yet. Both of them are doing great and the recipients are thrilled with them. Nice and zippy; great screen; great little laptop at a great price.
Summary: I like to use a wireless mouse with this, but I can not seem to stay away from the touchpad. No problem, I thought, but it will not disable! Tried Fn-F9, no good. Then I disabled it from the taskbar menu, but it still will not stop. Battery life is not nearly as advertised. For $860 I expected way more for my money.
Summary: Stay away from this laptop and any other laptop that advertises 2 video cards to save battery life. ** IF ** you can somehow manage to get both of them working with their drivers and in the BIOS, Windows still gets confused on when to use the good video card vs the low power one, and its just overall not worth the trouble.
Summary: I was excited to get this laptop. After a week of using this product I felt like it was not worth the $862 that I paid for it. The sound quality is pretty bad quality, the loudest it can go is not even that loud. The "brown" on the outside of the laptop looks more like black (which is fine by me). The texture of the laptop feels pretty nice.
Summary: I received the K52JC-B2 today and there are a few disappointments. I will update this review after I have had it a while, but these are my first impressions. 1. Keyboard and numerical pad - some people have said that the keyboard has a lot of flex. I have not found this to be true. It has a nice feel, does not "click", which I like and is easy for my fat fingers to move around.
Summary: This is a nice solid laptop that performs very well. The keyboard has a good touch and the display screen is bright and clear. Battery life seems fine, but most of the time I have it plugged in. My only complaint is the strange behavior from the touch pad. For the most part it works well, but there are several times in a day that it is so sensitive that it performs erratically.
