Raist, Newegg

  • Summary: If you buy their products, make sure you can get an extended warranty. There are third party companies you can get them from like SquareTrade. Based on past experiences with their products (never had one of their laptops, but other devices), I trusted Asus too much with this purchase and didn't get one and am now out roughly $1100.
  • Pros: Fast performer, in every aspect this was the perfect laptop for me...until things started messing up 2 months later.
  • Cons: Support dropping the ball. Wjhile still under Warranty, sent it back for what was obviously a physical short or loose connection internally that was causing the screen to blank out. Even provided a video of the problem in action (light pressure in spots around keyboard caused screen to go out). They ran software diagnostics, virus scan, defragged, and sent it back. Now that it is out of warranty, it has completely shorted and has no internal display--only external por...

I believe I made the right choice when I bought it

john-strai, Ebay
11 April 2014
  • Summary: I'm really happy with it, except I intend to upgrade from the 16 gigs of ram to 32 gigs. I hate the Metro interface, and have installed 'Classic Shell' I like the Graphics card. the fast start-up, the lighted keyboard, and about everything but the 'Microshaft' OS, I would prefer Linux, but have searched the net, and decided I'm not up, to going through the process of getting everything to work, as I'm not skilled enough to solve some of the issues, you may get, even when...

Frustrating start

Swich88, Newegg
10 April 2014
  • Summary: I will keep trying to fix this issue, I'd hate to have to return this computer, I really loved the idea of spending hours playing all my games on it. It really sucks that the only thing not working is the main reason why I bought this.
  • Pros: All the specifications for this machine are greatly suited for any videogame aficionado.
  • Cons: The main reason why I chose this computer is because of the GPU, however I hate to say that I have been really disappointed since day one, as soon as I tried playing games on this, problems started to appear regarding the GPU. Everytime I try to play the screen freezes and goes black, I've tried a lot of things to make it work, but havanet found a solution yet. Refursbished or not, no customer should have to go thru so much hassle, to have an out of the box product wo...

  • Summary: A absolutely beautiful machine from the moment you turn it on. Quiet fans, never shows signs of struggle multitasking beast and your games can be ran at high graphics without the fans getting loud or anything. Easy to maintain, the interior is extremely easy to get to and clean and/or add parts. The best investment I've made.

Bad HDD & OS

Jared, Newegg
2 April 2014
  • Summary: I've always favored ASUS over any other brand and Newegg as my purchasing medium over other sites. This, however, is really put a few things into perspective. I don't understand how a drive can be in this bad of condition and still pass as Grade B refurbished.
  • Pros: -Good System Specs (Aside from the Hard Drive)
  • Cons: (Based on my Experience with this laptop)

  • Summary: It is my second ASUS G class refurbished notebook. All I can say is that I'm am very happy with this purchase as I was with my previous. My old laptop that I bought is ASUS G72 that I bought as a refurbished in 2011. I did a few upgrades to it such as faster CPU, primary hard drive replaced with SSD, replaced screen to Matte as it was Glossy and had a few problems.
  • Pros: --Powerful CPU
  • Cons: --HDD is of-course slow but as it has two hard drive bays then just get an SSD as a primary drive for the OS and system - which I did and boosted laptop performance 2 times.

Worth the Money

Ario, Amazon
11 March 2014
  • Summary: Looks great works well and runs most games on max/medium settings, but not ALL of'em, which is something i expected off of it. Its 3D mark score was relatively low in its segment as well and it didnt reach the gaming PC benchmark. However. it is priced much lower than other laptops in its segment and has pretty heavy tech-specs so i'm more than satisfied.

  • Summary: I purchased this model because it was the cheapest model that had the CPU and GPU combination I wanted. I upgraded the hard drives, optical drive, and RAM immediately. This machine is an excellent desktop replacement laptop.

If awesome sauce were a laptop...

  • Summary: I have owned this for a number of months now and I absolutely love it, everything I throw at it can be played in max settings, everything from Everquest 2 on 'extreme quality' right up to the yet-to-be-released Elder Scrolls Online, Maximum settings, maximum quality, runs sweet as. My wife recently bought an Alienware 17, and that laptop is NO faster than this once.
