Summary: I bought this laptop to use mainly for web design. I wanted the larger screen because I use photo shop a lot and I couldn't see using a 13 or 15 inch screen to do that. This is a desktop replacement machine for me. I really like the ergonomics of the laptop. The profile makes the screen higher up in the back, so I'm not hunching down to view the screen at the correct angle. I was worried about that while deciding to buy a laptop instead of another desktop or all-in-one.
Summary: For anyone familiar with Asus, their gaming machines are big and heavy, which I don't mind. I don't use this for much gaming, I am more interested in the specs for graphics work (Adobe products). I have found that it runs Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere and the likes with absolutely no issues. Overall a good computer.
Summary: I've owned my Asus for over a year (bought it just before Windows 8.0 became standard on all machines, wasn't jumping on that band wagon to #3!!). So far, system performance has been great but I'll go over that in a second. I spent several weeks looking and reading reviews for a new laptop before I came on this one and could not complain about the price for what the device comes with.
Summary: Let me begin, first, with how much I have loved ASUS Laptops, in general. They are quality built, that provide superior specs, for a below-average price. I've owned several of these laptops. The G75VW model is a very solid laptop that appears to have learned upon past G-series problems that dealt with the hinges of their cases, as well as the venting of the internal components.
Summary: Great laptop and gave it a four star and not a five star because received it with a DOA DVD drive. I was able to remove it and send it in to ASUS repair center. It was replaced and now all is working wonderfully. Computer is fast. From pushing start button to log in takes only 10 seconds.
Audio stereos and Integrated mic did not work properly out of the box. I would not resolve it on my own. Very annoying.

Summary: Got it fresh out of the box and loved everything about it, EXCEPT a really annoying, deal-breaking audio problem it was having. I could not use my headphones, the webcam, and the integrated mic at all. Large amounts of white noise and pings would come out of the speakers and I had no idea how to fix it. I reordered the laptop, but the next unit had the same problem. Stay away from it until you specifically see that the issue had been addressed and fixed.
Summary: Fantastic laptop. I like almost everything about this laptop. It has an Intel i7 processor and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 660M graphics chip. The only thing I don't like that much is it currently has Windows 8. Hopefully 8.1 will be better. Also if your looking for a light/slim laptop, then this one won't be for you. It has a 17.3 inch display and definitely isn't light but I like that. I haven't yet seen a light/slim laptop that had the speed and power I require.
