Summary: Compared to my old laptop, the ASUS ROG G750JS-DS71 is an absolute dream. I bought this laptop for photo and video editing purposes and this thing is an absolute performer. It is very fast! It boots up fast and runs adobe programs fast. I don't play games on it, but if I did I'm positive this laptop is can handle graphic intensive games. Here are some things you need to be aware of. 1) It's big and heavy!
Summary: The ASUS ROG exceeds my expectation, even though I'm not running high graphic games on it. I mostly using it for web surfing and TV shows watching. The large screen, the easy-to-use QWERTY keyboard and the conveniently located mouse allow smooth usage for any purpose. Couple of downsides I have to mention which related to the win8 installed on it. 1.
Summary: Simply amazing and fast. Only part bad about the gaming laptop is obviously of course due to windows 8. I don't need to post spec because I'm sure you're looking at the same laptop that I have. Anyways, the specifications are really top notch for the price. I highly recommend this but must add Windows 7 x64.
Excerpt: This is my first gaming laptop in a long while and I love it. It plays all my game flawlessly and quietly. It's super fast, keyboard is nice, Since most people here will tell you the good I'll mention some of the bad. Currently I'm working abroad (Mexico) and had this computer sent over to me from B&H. The web cam on it didn't work and since this laptop comes with an international warranty I felt secured. Beware the international warranty is really bad.
Summary: So I bought this from another website because i wanted more costumizations And I added a blue ray player and writer and I put 2 SSD (1SSD 128Gb Samsung Pro + the same model but a 512Gb) Impressions: -Noisy even with light games from 2010 like Tomb Rider:Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (if you care about noise) -Big, its hard to find a backpack for this laptop unless u wanna pay 100$ for one.
Summary: I'm quite happy with this laptop for its intended use, gaming when I'm not at home. The obvious downsides first. You must be plugged in to game. On battery it runs with the internal graphics, fine for farmville or angry birds but hopeless for real games. It may be possible to override this function but as the gtx 870 draws 4x the power of the cpu/intergrated chip by itself you would be looking at full tilt unplugged gaming for all of 35 minutes if you did that.
Summary: Great Laptop - very happy. Pros : - Great performance from processor, and nVidia graphics card; All modern games at full detail. - Lots of hard drive space - Good screen - BluRay drive Cons : - As mentioned by somebody else - USB ports on left side of laptop can't really cope with powering devices like USB powered external hard drives - they work, but can be flaky and lose connection during large file transfers.
