Bad power jack

PHUOC D., Newegg
25 March 2015
  • Pros: Works as expected.
  • Cons: After 4 years of ownership the power jack has become finicky. I now have to angle it just right so that it detects the power plug. Very frustrating problem for an otherwise remarkable product.

Outstanding Gaming Laptop for the Price!

Blake Duncan, Amazon
23 November 2014
  • Summary: This is an amazing gaming laptop for the price! I bought this at a time when my previous laptop croaked, and I was a bit tight for money. Most people don't exactly have a gaming laptop pop into their head when they need a rig, and are tight for money, but I am almost always on the go, so a desktop...

I've had a wonderful time using this computer and would definitely recommend it ...

Pen Name, Amazon
8 November 2014
  • Summary: I've had mine for coming up on two years now, and bought from here. The only issue I ever had was the charging cable connection breaking off the charger that came with the laptop.

Good computer but horrible Design layout

Wilsonsien, Amazon
2 July 2014
  • Summary: This is a really good gaming laptop. It's powerful and runs really well. The extras such as back lit keyboard is also very nice. So why did I give it 2 stars? That's just because of 1 critical thing, "YOU CANNOT ACCESS THE CPU WITH OUT TAKING THE COMPUTER APART". Let me explain.

Solid portable powerhouse

ali g., Newegg
20 June 2014
  • Summary: I've had this since fall 2011, and it is still running strong. The keyboard and trackpad aren't great but I don't use them unless I'm traveling. Also, the power socket started shorting out on me after a year, and ASUS fixed it free of charge.
  • Pros: Fast, Great build quality, great for gaming and pretty powerful as a workstation. Crazy ventilation.
  • Cons: ctrl key wore out after two years, now I use an external. Huge(if you need to be portable). trackpad is worthless (I use a mouse anyway)

3 years and she still delivers

Mridul J Kurup, Amazon
16 March 2014
  • Summary: She has survived a lot of bumps over the period. One of the best laptops ever. However the screen has started to have a lot of dead pixels in the last 3 months. Might have to replace it. There is a slight boot issue as well. You might want to blow the dust off once in a while.

BIG ASUS LETDOWN

James H., Newegg
26 January 2014
  • Summary: Loved the laptop at first, so much so I bought one for my wife. Unfortunately, the laptop only made it two years before I had a power jack issue, which caused many start-up issues until it wouldn't power the laptop. I turn it into ASUS for warranty repair and get the laptop back with issues.
  • Pros: Good speed, impressive performance, beautiful display.
  • Cons: Poor reliability, horrible repair service from ASUS.

Read up on the issues before you buy...

Christopher, Amazon
3 January 2014
  • Summary: There are some common issues with the G series of Asus laptops. Issues I've had include: Mouse-pad sensitivity went haywire and my left palm would make it go crazy. Had to disable it completely. Also, Power jack frequently goes out.
