Fantastic

DENNIS V., Newegg
23 April 2011
  • Summary: I am glad that I invested in it as the only thing I have noticed being a problem is the battery life, keeping it plugged in while playing is a must.. but I do not mind that to much.
  • Pros: With the backlit keyboard, speakers, and resolution this thing is a gamers paradise. Fantastic for everything I need it for and gaming (It runs Crysis 2, Portal 2 beautifully, and anything else I throw at it.)
  • Cons: Low battery Life - as awesomeness requires power.

  • Pros: I got this PC on Christmas and I have not found problems with it. I manly got this for editing videos and music and I know it will work fine. This thing has a lot of power and memory.
  • Cons: My PC gets cranky when I don't feed its daily dose of small apples. (macs

Great Buy

Wendy C., Newegg
18 April 2011
  • Summary: This thing was meant to be overclocked, with its cooling system and all. I can run it at these specs without it over heating. Core Clock - @800 Shader Clock - @1600 Memory Clock - @1480 While the default is set to: @675 @1350 @1250 Thats a good 18-20% increase.
  • Pros: The Specs obviously. Very sharp 1080p display. I play a lot of games on Steam, and this can handle every one of them without a problem. With my most demanding game I own being Crysis, realistically I get anywhere from 25-40 FPS at 720p with a mixture of high and ultra high settings, Crysis 2 I ge...
  • Cons: None too serious, except the keyboard wasn't very responsive until I uninstalled the touchpad software, and disabled it in bios. So that leaves me without a touchpad, but I don't use it anyway so it didn't affect my rating.

Love it

Sean O., Newegg
6 April 2011
  • Summary: Stick with the Nvidia card. Found out from a friend that has the same laptop but with the AMD card and it over heats all the time.
  • Pros: I am a Vanilla WOW player, I have to say I am seeing and hearing things in the game that are totaly new. I run the system on 2 different 27" screens tied in with the G15 keyboard and the Cataclysm Steel series mouse. I have no lag or d/c issues now. I have been a desktop pc guy for years and this...
  • Cons: All the usb ports and vid2o ports are on the sides. With having everthing tied into the laptop I knock out the usb plugs all the time. Wish they made a docking staion with this.

Awesome Choice

Andrew F., Newegg
27 March 2011
  • Summary: awesome price for an awesome laptop. LOVE ASUS!!
  • Pros: The hardware specs are complete overkill which is why I bought it just like any geek out there upgrades their computers more than they need. Great price for what you are paying for definitely recommend this for hardcore gamers. Just bought crysis 2 and can play it no lag on extreme graphics. Love...
  • Cons: obviously its bulky and wont fit well in most backpacks but thats about it.

Excellent games laptop / desktop replacement

Stronghold, Amazon
13 March 2011
  • Summary: Pros: * Fast laptop, excellent specs * Nice styling * Thoughtful design and layout (example, USB ports on both the right and left sides of the laptop, no ports on the back) * Excellent cooling, even on longish gaming sessions it does not get hot. Warm, but not hot, can comfortably be held on lap.

Awesome

Robert E., Newegg
10 March 2011
  • Summary: - Little more than I wanted to spend at the time, but am satified with the laptop so far.
  • Pros: The display is crystal and vibrant. It runs just about any game I have flawlessly. Finish is matte and rubbery, has that protective case feel, which I like. This had just about everything I wanted in a new laptop, and am completely satified with it.
  • Cons: - overloaded with bloatware, that most users wouldn't use or want. Reinstall of windows takes care of that. - Back exhaust vents get hot during heavy loads, nothing major like scalding but have to be aware of the air flow - goes from back to front and don't block any vents. - A little on the heav...

Amazing Laptop

Jeff W., Newegg
6 March 2011
  • Summary: But all in all a great laptop for the performance and the price. A big jump from Xp to 7, love the change! Drive was pre-partitioned into 125g/375g drives, saves me a step. I would highly recommend this model to anyone looking into portable gaming. That is if you use a wireless mouse :P
  • Pros: - Blazing fast, able to run Starcraft 2 and other high performance games at MAX setting without use of the built-in overclock feature. - All bugs of the G73JH model have been fixed, no GSOD or keystroke problems yet *knocks of wood* - Touchpad buttons have been split into two buttons from previou...
  • Cons: - Internet Explorer pre-installed :P - Touch pad, after 2 months, no longer functioned, still looking for fix... maybe bios flash... - Wireless N does not support 5mhz :( - hard to find big enough case to fit it in :/ - low battery life, but what do you expect for a gaming laptop. - Fair amount o...
