If your thinking about buying one, stop thinking and buy it.

Summary: Everything and more that wat I expected in laptop, while not being a new Ultrabook or super thin, this machine feels like it could control the Deathstar. Powerful processor fully capable of running high end 3D Auto Cad program. Great feeling keyboard. All around excellent computer.
Summary: I purchased this laptop in October 2010. I was looking for a portable computer suitable for mobile software development, some scientific computing, and the occasional game. It appeared as though this machine was a perfect fit with a perfect price. It has been great for me as a graduate student. Prior, I would use a desktop at home for heavy duty activity and bring a small laptop to and from school/work daily. This ASUS has essentially replaced both.
Summary: Amazing laptop. It is also HUGE. I can't look at a normal laptop anymore without thinking its a netbook. This laptop came with everything in the listing. (Bought new that is.) Everything meets what it says. The graphics are amazing, and the speed is amazing. The graphics card is sometimes not noticed by a game. For example, in StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, the graphics card was "undetected" and I had to set the graphics manually.
Summary: I have only had this machine a few months - out of the box it was great for a month - NOW the touch pad is thinking for itself. The keys skip and stick. And when I run a graphics intensive game it sounds like a jet engine revving on the right side!!! It's soundless if not gaming. Seriously this is so NOT a gamer machine unless you enjoy being dead a lot and your role play text taking longer than the prologue to Moby Dick since you have to correct all the misspells from...
Summary: Pros: * Fast laptop, excellent specs * Nice styling * Thoughtful design and layout (example, USB ports on both the right and left sides of the laptop, no ports on the back) * Excellent cooling, even on longish gaming sessions it does not get hot. Warm, but not hot, can comfortably be held on lap. Cons: * Fingerprint magnet * Very heavy, needs the appropriate sized case.
Summary: edit 11/27/2011: I needed to point out that Asus support did honor the warranty, and my laptop was back in about a week, all fixed. After months of daily use, I have not noticed any ill effects of my dropping, so they truly fixed it. And, in my case, I didn't lose any data on the hard drive (even though I had backed everything up and removed personal data).
Summary: Overall a very solid laptop computer. While running it stays quite cool, and the overall shape of the computer is very well designed. The only two complaints I have is that... 1. I still can't run the newer games on the highest graphics. 2. Just setting up the computer proved itself to be a difficult process (many bugs with the updates/OS not being installed properly).
Summary: I am very happy with this laptop. It was a good price and I use it in ways most buyers wont. I installed Windows 7 Pro x64, MS Office, Avid Media Composer 5, Pro Tools, Adobe CS5, Edius 5, Camtasia, DVD Architect, and Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate. What I noticed the most is the processor can handle A LOT. There's a window in Pro Tools that shows CPU and it's always really low. In Xilisoft, you can encode 8 videos at a time.
Summary: Calm, cool, collected--that is the simplest way to describe the ASUS G73JW-XA1. This beast of a laptop is the fastest computer I have ever had the pleasure to lay my hands on. It tears through Crysis at a lovely 30 FPS, in full high-definition at very high settings, and makes the game itself beg for mercy. The G73-JW is the best laptop available; hands down.
Summary: I've owned a lot of laptops, but typically use at a desk with full-size monitor and keyboard. Last year I switched over to an HP netbook for my personal machine, and was really frustrated with the speed and display size. I re-thought my needs and realized that I wanted a BIG laptop with performance matching a desktop. I didn't need small. I wasn't planning to bring it anyplace except moving it around the house a lot, so this seemed to fit the bill.
