Summary: update bios if u got older ver, add a ssd if u want it fly, this video card could eat any games, once again, i hate these dirty sticky on this nice laptop
Pros: outstanding look, light up catch ppl attention do it if u feel like to, wat a gaming designed laptop, i mean awesome
Cons: hey, minor scratches on the cover barely see so not a big problem, wait, it is so dirty i swear, it took me few hours to clean it. i wish i get a better one, i would return to get a replacement but it aint worth my time
Summary: lol i was looking for USB ports and audio sets for EVER!!! i almost became emotional after flipping the computer upside-down and left to right for 5 minutes, and looking through the websites to make sure it does have them... and then figured out that i had to open the sides -_-;; HAHAHA i feel dumb.
Pros: the physical condition of the computer is very good. i usually don't mind scratches anyway. but few are visible.
Cons: it had previous owners things still installed. profile and all. i had to re-install the windows myself, which was pretty inconvenient.. basically it took me over an hour just to get started with the computer.
Summary: This is a great computer for the money, if your a gamer it most defiantly should meet any games expectations. Also if you need/want to commit a crime this (referbished) computer should provide enough physical DNA to frame who ever owned it last.
Pros: 4.8 windows experience Index! (ram gives it a low score, DDR2). 560.94 dollars Total (re-certified) (10/24/2011) (with tax and shipping) Arrived 1 day early! Not a lot of "bloatware" but some. Built in overclocking option. speakers sound great. mouse pad is fast and responsive. screen has no visi...
Cons: Dirty... Even for a refurbished laptop, I would have thought that they would have cleaned it.. It came with, the last owners.. hair, finger, gooooo?!?!? Body hair?, lint, body dandruff? mountain dew stains? hot pocket leftovers, Doritos, Some sort of chocolate pieces in the express card reader. A...
Summary: I appreciated the price. I think I paid $800 for it last year. Hopefully my review is helpful as I have been in ownership for quite some time. The issues that I listed are truly the only issues I have had.
Pros: Visually I think it's great. Mine came without a single scratch on it. Performance wise I am sometimes disappointed, more follows in cons. Other than my issues I have, I think it's great. I really do love it.
Cons: Windows Vista (I now run Windows 7 Ultimate). Running games as old as CS:S I cannot use as high of resolution settings as I would like. L4D2 I experience the same issue. Occasionally the laptop will start clicking or knocking and I will not be able to click anything, sort of locks up, if you will...
Summary: -Overall a great budget gaming laptop, it'll run most of today's games just fine, maybe not all games on Max/Ultra. -The few cons up there I knew coming in, so I couldn't really dock too many eggs, but combined as a review for the laptop overall, that's what I give it.
Pros: -Shipped in 7 days from the States to Afghanistan. -Quick easy boot up. -Second Hard Drive space -Big, I like big... -260M GPU
Cons: -Vista...enough said -Quite a few scratches -Sadly the second hard drive space did NOT come with a HD mount, so you have to buy one if you plan on putting a 2.5" in there. -P6700 CPU, wish it were a little better.
Summary: Buy and external cooler for this if you plan on gaming...it gets as hot as hades!!!!!
Pros: High quality ASUS laptop. All the bells and whistles!
Cons: Vista! Pure garbage. Upgrade to Windows 7 if you have any sense. This laptop has graphic Card heat issues!!! The power supply failed in 5 months and they are expensive to replace. 90 day warrenty...come on ASUS, if your products are so good what the heck is with this? 90 days is just long enough ...
Summary: Didnt check gpu -___- too lazy im 100% guarantee that the gpu does not have any paste on it either.
Pros: Fairly good laptop considering it has a Gtx 260m gpu. Can play most games smoothly. Quite big and heavy if you want something portable dont buy this but its a gaming laptop O_O
Cons: Need to upgrade bios, keyboard input is still messed up. After 6 months of owning this laptop it started lagging due to overheating(since my warranty was over). I open the inside and to see that the cpu does not have ANY THERMAL PASTE. So if you know what your doing buy yourself paste! My tempera...
Summary: As Skyflier0 pointed out, the Win7 audio driver on the Asus portal is indeed a dud, still trying to get a resolution. As a workaround, I've got this set up as a dual-boot Win7/Vista machine (I know) just because all the drivers are complete for "Mojave.
Pros: Strong graphics performance (even with the 400 series cards out the 260m still ranks as a class 1 GPU, not too shabby), built-in OC utility, solid build quality, HDMI out, capable performer.
Cons: With the advent of 400/500 series GPUs and the Core i series moving on to Sandy Bridge (with Ivy Bridge on the horizon) its not the "latest and greatest" tech - should drop the price a bit more, as a couple of benjamins more can now net you a newer spec'd system.
