Summary: When I ordered this laptop it was the best Asus I could afford with the features I wanted (Backlit Keyboard). When I received it I was not happy with the size or weight.(Computer or power supply) Well then the disappointments continued, every single promblem that this model has I had...the backlit keyboard stop working after an update, then it would freeze up after hibernation or sleep mode.
Summary: Performance.- This laptop is super fast, the second generation intel core i7 is very powerful for every kind of pressure you put on it. The turbo boost helps in processing intensive tasks and the hyper threading allows you to operate virtually in 8 threads! I run every task almost in real time. I think very very rarely a person would need more speed than this.
Summary: I'm a college student who likes to game. So basically I have a limited budget, require a computer I can take from my house to class, and it needs to be powerful so I can game. After doing my research, I arrived at this computer. On paper...just wow. The processor, RAM, video card and display combo that this laptop features is simply fantastic, and I couldn't find it with any other computer for anything less then about $1300. At the time, this laptop was going for $900.
Summary: This is an amazing laptop for your cash. Mine came completely functional and has been able to run anything i throw at it with ease! Hope any hopeful buyers wont get discouraged by the negative reviews like I almost did, cuz theyre from ppl who either had a bad experience or dont know what theyre talking about.
Summary: I got this earlier today in unscathed packaging. Un-boxed it, inserted the battery, plugged it in and pressed the power button.....did not turn on. I was ready with a refrigerator magnet in hand; I swiped it back and forth along the lower edge of the laptop, right under the trackpad. Pressed the power button again and I was on my way. Construction: Very hefty-I would hate to drop this on my foot--and very solid..I liken the build to a tank.
Summary: After dealing with a series of defective Alienware M14x laptops I decided to give Asus a try. Their motherboards are pretty much the best you can buy and I have never had a single problem with any Asus motherboard I've owned. The G53SW comes with the GTX 460 which is actually more powerful than the GTX 560 in the G53SX. This particular model came with 6GB of 1333 Mhz DD3 memory, a 7200 RPM Seagate hard drive, the GTX 460 GPU, I7-2630 CPU, and the full HD screen.
Summary: Excellent laptop, people who want to play games, but don't like to spend 1000$ + It was problems with magnetic proximity switch it (is remain magnetized, so when you push start button nothing happened). Basicly it think's that Lid is still closed and preventing laptop from starting (this is Asus safety measures). For people who are not advanced in PC hardware it can be a real chalenge. Cause they can think that laptop is not working and try to return it.
Summary: I got this computer on sale from amazon for 899 an love it. I was scared at first from reading the reviews that talked about it having dead pixels and faulty track pads and power buttons but i have had none of these problems so far.it was also shipped with paper padding so it was not sliding around. the computer itself is extremely fast and looks great with its bright screen and illuminated keyboard.

Summary: I purchased this laptop about 3 months ago as a portable gaming rig to use when I travel away from my Desktop (along with using it for streaming content). First off, the graphics card in here is exceptional for the price of the rig; the 2GB is more than you'll ever need for graphics memory (at least for a $1000 laptop) and runs most online streams, gaming, and other graphics quite well for my taste. All in all it's a pretty nice rig for the price.
