Summary: Normally I love ASUS, in fact, my last 4 computer purchases were ASUS, however their support with this product was horrible! Not only did the computer die soon after purchase, but ASUS customer service kept giving me a runaround, and sending me to talk to someone else. Whenever anyone tried to help me, either the rep couldn't understand me properly, or vice versa due to language barriers. This has clouded my appreciation of ASUS, and I refuse to buy another ASUS product.
Summary: I chose this laptop to be able to handle the processing of a business software I use and family gaming. I had heard good things about ASUS and was excited when I saw a good deal right before Christmas. Within 1 month, the mousepad on the laptop was jumping the mouse all over the screen like it had a short and the keyboard was sticking several letters.
Summary: Purchased this laptop for my son and he has had nothing but problems. The computer had to be sent back to the manufacter during the summer. It was not repairable so they sent a new computer after a few months. Now he has it at college, and it doesn't work again. He now has no computer for school. I would like to return it and get a different computer if possible.
Summary: 7 months ago I bought this computer, the screen has stopped working and the warranty for ASUS tells me that the overall warranty does not cover countries of Latin America, in conclusion, I lost $ 1000 buying this product .. I would not recommend this brand.
Summary: After readingg mediocre reviews I still decided to purchase this laptop. At the 899 price who wouldn't? I was hoping that asus would have fixed the power issue by now, but I was completely wrong. From theminute I arrived the laptop wouldn't power on. I let the laptop charge overnight, and yes, the green indicator light on the charging cable was lit and so was the orange light below the touchpad. IT JUST WON'T TURN ON!
Summary: First time out the box, this brand new laptop would not even power up due to a faulty power button. Do I need to say more? I later found out online that the issue is known to Asus, something about a faulty magnet sensor buried somewhere next to the trackpad. Nonetheless, Asus continues to manufacture and sell defective units. My advice: buy something else! As for Amazon, I have only praise for the professional manner in which they handled my order and return.
Summary: I'm from Argentina. Bought this computer from Amazon in a trip to Miami. When I got back, the PC doesn't even turn on. It takes me about 10-20 tries to get it up. Called ASUS Argentina due to the so called "Global Warranty". Said there's nothing they can do about it. Where's the GLOBAL warranty one may ask... well, it's just not there. Called ASUS US, and they said I had to go to the US, ship the computer somehow and that later they'll ship it to me.
Summary: I ordered this laptop for my grandson to play games and do virtual school work. Amazon.com was fantastic! VERY courteous, easy to work with, and very prompt delivery. The laptop was packaged very well even though loosely placed in a 2nd box. No visable damage to the packaging or the product. Upon powering up the laptop it became obvious that there was internal screen damage. About half of the screen was pixelated with color strips running top to bottom.
Summary: PROS This thing is a beast. It has handled everything I've thrown at it with great results. Crysis 2, Portal 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops, all run fantastic on high settings. I really love the performance of this thing. CONS I have had some major issues with the power button on this thing not working. Sometimes it takes me 1-2 minutes of repeatedly pressing the power button to get it to power up. It doesn't seem to be triggered by anything, either.
